This film takes scenes from the original movie and represents them in Lego. If you haven't seen the original, this film won't make much sense to you, as no effort is made to bind the scenes together and explain parts of the story that were deleted.
It uses the original audio track (I think - I've never seen the German synchronized version), so the sound and music are spot on... Set design is very basic, with not much attention paid to staying close to the original, scale or other criteria.
Some of the best parts of the movie were taken for this one. The scene at the hotel was very funny in the original.
All in all, if you know Beverly Hills Cop (the first part), this film will be fun for you, if you don't... go rent it or something, it's not bad. But it does contain more swearing than the average Hollywood film, and some violence. I think it's rated 12+ in my country. Most of the scenes used in this edition don't have the swearing, and only one of them has violence.
