Does anyone use hand-drawn faces in their brickfilms? I use an overhead projector pen to draw on the characters’ expressions and I need to check if this has been done before.
I’ve seen this done in a few brickfilms, but I’ve never seen it done well. Down at Lego scale, hand-drawn images look very crude. If you have access to an inkjet printer, try and get hold of some decal sheets — then you could design the faces digitally, reduce them in scale, print them out and transfer them to blank Lego minifig heads.
What I want to know is how people make their figs have facial expressions, e.g. Raising eyebrows
LEGO minifigs sometimes come with different expressions and these can be used (head switching) but you are limited to whatever expressions are available. A good example is MlCHAELHlCKOXFilms’ LEGO mini golf animation
I use gimp to make different faces.
