This project, spanning over several months, was initially a project between Gallons Animation studios and Ugress. Because there was more beer then animation it turned out in the end to be insufficient as a proper music video for Ugress, especially since he recently sold 10,000 of his debut album. So, after getting screwed by a now famous artist we stood back with our music video, and wanted to share it with the brickfilming community:

It’s in Windows Media format, about 11 megs, high quality, and about 4 minutes. In this film we got to explore several interesting aspects of filming that has been discussed here, in particular SNOW and LIGHTING. Enjoy!

    Oh yeah.

    This one is nice.

The Flahing lights are cool done.
But after a while they become some boring because they looping. You could have two light one for the refrain and the next before and after that.

The intro shot looked clever done.

I could get an idea what fps it was but it looked fine.

The moves of the band where pretty real, moving their heads and a creazy guy with a guitar.

the ice world looked pretty nice.

Well at the end it became some boring becasue you used the same shots twice, or looped some move and there wasn’t some big action happening.

But I think you did a job well. 🙂

Will this be a Brick Fest 2003 entry? If so, nice timing!
    (dl’ing now)

    Mr. Less

It is a music video compettition.

    Very cool.
I’ve never seen snow in brickfilms before. You’ve used it in a good way.I never heard the song,so it’s new to me.It would rock the house! 😮

*Refuses to watch it so that he will still have morale to work on his music video project*

Sorry, I just don’t have the heart. 😐

So am I “allowed” to post the movie here before the contest starts? (silly question, I know) and is Jared available to make one video for the bunch? I don’t think I’ll be able to get this film transferred to VHS (especially since I’m in PAL country 😛 )

If you liked the music, check out for more of the same! You can download the entire album for free 🙂

hmmm, you need to figure out how to cut off the last 15 secs of the film, or take out some parts in the middle or begining.. I loved it.

For one, next time put tape over your camera so the “greenlight” doesn’t reflect off the set.

The snow looked fantastic. there were a few bumps on the set, the mountain moving a bit but nothing bad..

Well This film will help me keep myself motivated for this contest..
    Nice job Litervis.

Nice snow and flashing in the background. Nice everything… except for the music. I don’t like rap songs. 😕 No offense, okay?

It was quite ok. The music was not interesting enough to keep my attention for 4 minutes and unfortunately not much happened animation-wise to compensate that.

The animation was quite good. A huge improvement over that vacuum cleaner thing. Too bad that the stroboscope effect was rendered poorly by the codec, but I don’t think there’s a way around that (multi-pass, variable bitrate encoding, maybe, but I don’t think it will make it look great).
