Damn, I kept putting off voting. Any chance we could see the breakdown?

At any rate, congratulations to everyone -I’m sure it was a close call in any case!

So I guess everyone got their “get out of purgatory free” cards?

    Amazing again, Smeagol.

Ever since the Franky Job came out, I’ve been waiting for someone else to take a serious jab at this genre. You haven’t disappointed.

Visually, the film is brilliant. The attention to detail pays off time and time again.

I’m still not sure I completely like the story. It was reasonably well told, but it just…[Read more]

Well, the film worked fine for me.

Very nicely done. I was really blown away by the presentation. I’ll have to watch it a few more times to come up with something I significantly dislike, but I’m a bit at a loss right now.

    Great film, bravo!

  • Nice looking film. I found it just a little dull but you did a decent job of combining some eclectic pieces into a cohesive and relatively entertaining short. I think I can safely say this is the best lego star wars WWF brickfilm yet. My main complaint was the lack of gratuitous wresting moves, as in the original SWF movie.

  • Not bad. Just about everything needs some work but you’ve got a good start on most filmmaking aspects. The lightsabers were well done.

I was also expecting a little more in the way of Canadian references, instead of just an incessant use of “eh”.

Still, nothing terrible here, just read the FAQ and your films will look better in no time. The…[Read more]

  • This is great. I showed up just as the forums were switching over and ended up wondering why nobody was replying to my posts.

Reflecting on the site, it really was and still is something that can only exist on the internet. I’ve become pretty attached to this community. It has given me an opportunity to branch out, converse and work with all…[Read more]

  • Great job Smeagol. The concept was brilliant and you pulled it off nicely, although the quality of the CGI was not on the same level as I see in many commercials. That said, it looked great and was memorable and humorous enough that I can truly see you making the top 10 or even winning!

I am sure you have just been busy, but I’d like to note that this ad is still in the rotation.

  • Tim, scholarships are not all based solely on marks. From my experience, many give preferential treatment to ethnic minorities or women. If you’re going to into engineering, you might find some schools offer engineering-specific scholarships. Apply to as many as you can. Even small ones are much more effective than working (not that I’m…[Read more]

  • Nice technically and I hope you win!

However, it was a little flat. The joke was disappointing and the whole commercial seemed drawn out. If you haven’t already submitted it, you might do well to cut some of the “boring” time. Commercials are short, snappy and concise. In keeping with the latter, the “real” footage at the end and the unoriginal…[Read more]

  • Wow. The trailer gave me goosebumps. Congratulations, I am truly awed.

The art is great. The trailer itself gives very little insight into the story, but I’m eager to see the completed film. If the story proves to be tired, the acting terrible and the directing awful, the art will still probably make it worthwhile. That said, your past work…[Read more]

I hadn’t really thought of blood donations.

I’ve heard rumors that Obama has plans to implement a system whereby university students (or university bound high school students) could volunteer for non-profit organizations and receive government grants. I have no idea how successful it would be in the States or in Canada but I do know it sounds…[Read more]

  • Very entertaining! I haven’t seen any of the film versions but I don’t see the point now.

From a technical standpoint you have a few things to polish but I’m sure you can easily put together an outstanding film if you focus on the details.

  • I grinds my gears when people wear shirts proclaiming their love for other bands when they go to concerts. It’s like going to a sports game and wearing the sweater of a team that isn’t even playing.

Good work. The animation in just a few parts was less than stellar but the film looked great otherwise. I liked the new take on maintaining lego as itself. There are really two ways brickfilmers can go with a serious film. This is one and the other is to try to make people forget the characters are toys. Your film just about does both, which makes…[Read more]

  • Suffice it to say I am waiting with bated breath (away from the microphone!)

  • Good luck indeed. The site seems to be running fine and I have no reason to think it shouldn’t be!

I came to this site just as Jason was selling the site to RevMen. It’s great to look back at how much the site has expanded since then. Brickfilms has been on TV multiple times and the site itself is growing in content and functionality. There…[Read more]

  • The men also appeared to be much less choosy. Men tended to select nearly every woman above a certain minimum attractiveness threshold

It is a pretty useless study given the size of the test group but that statement alone is a little frightening. We just need a study that can determine whether someone is above or below the attractiveness…[Read more]

  • Christian Bale’s transformations are pretty amazing, no doubt.

A lot of people can act, and I am of the opinion that movie stars are grossly overpaid. That said, acting is harder than many people make it out to be. I cannot act very convincingly at all, even when playing myself. I tend to appreciate those relatively competent professional…[Read more]
