Just do it, Krakovibrick man. You don’t need Shale’s approval to upload a film.
My entry is done!

And, don’t worry. This post gets deleted, it’s coming back.
Damn. So many changes.
And I was beginning to like zane.
BRICKFILMS IS NO LONGER A DEMOCRACY! IT’S A DICTATORSHIP!
That looks great, Brickteen. I’d definitely stick with the old one. Just try to do something to make the CGI look more like real LEGOs.
Nice, I guess painting skills come in handy, eh? Too bad I didn’t pay attention when I took painting last year… I still have my grandpa if I ever need advice about that, though.
Well, here’s the blurred-up-mouth facial animation test:

Good idea Nick. I’ll try to blur it tonight after I finish my homework.
Nice shot, Night Owl. Did you use a LCD as your backdrop?
Here’s a little something I whipped together tonight. A facial animation test.

Please, if there is a better or easier way of doing this, tell me.
randomparrot, the current prize is fine. That set only works for movies with prisoners. Honestly, how many movies use prisoners as opposed to how many movies with building walls?
I agree. The dirt matches up perfectly with the LCD backdrop.

That’s a fact of life right there. But yeah that shot looks pretty good Ladon. One thing though. Shouldn’t he be holding the revolver is his left hand since there’s already a revolver on his left side belt and if he reached for that it would be with his…[Read more]
I’ve figured out Photoshop’s compression quirks and here’s an improved version of the background test. Some thoughts on how to improve would help me out a lot, too.
By the way, it’s at the highest level of quality Photoshop let me save it as.[/spoiler]
And here’s the previous bluescreened test shot with a slight blue…[Read more]
Here’s a backdrop test I did. I blurred up the backdrop in Photoshop.
I’m not happy with it, but thought that someone might be able to help me out.
Here’s what I think is wrong:
– Blotchy – no doubt due to my printer…
– The foreground lighting doesn’t match up too well with the background lighting.
– It’s…[Read more]
If you’re doing more than one insurgent, then I would do some with blank torsos, some with printed for variety’s sake.

Agreed. There’s FAR, MoB, Book to Bricks, CAP, BCS#1.
Anything I’m missing?
Looks like a blackjack dealer. And I agree with Felix that some dust would spruce it up.
That looks good, Night Owl. Is that a sepia effect? Nice touch with the blur, too. Photos weren’t the clearest back then.
You can get more realistic looking military uniforms for BrickArms or by making decals.
Yeah, I’m still trying to figure out a way to do that for an animation.
That’s a great shot, Ladon. I think it would look better with some more realistic grass though. Those look more like scraggly bushes because of their relative size to the minifig.
Alright, here’s what I did following everyone’s advice about the white balance. I turned it down all the way.
Notice how the white…[Read more]
Now that’s a prize! :wink
This looks like a pretty well organized contest. And should turn out some interesting results.
