• Let it go Mousequeso, I’m not interested in seeing any wars crop up on this thread 😛

Besides, the design has been settled on if for no other reason than it looks decent. If folks have better designs, then perhaps they should post them?

  • Perfect, thanks. Oh, if you head over to any place OTHER THAN the community section, you should see two links on the left (or top, depending on your resolution). One for your director profile and the other to view your films. You can go in and edit any information on films that you own now. Tags are stripped for saftey’s sake.

  • Also – could someone tell me who actually owns these films? I’d like to get them registered under the appropriate owner. Especially since I’m about to enable users to edit the film information.

    Teleplates of Doom
    Lego Junkyard Scene 1

  • Ok – here’s a reply to (basically) everything.

I added a script in to determine your browser window size on load, so if you are running a resolution under 1280 pixels wide, your ‘control panel’ (logout, messages, etc) will be on the top like it was. Otherwise, you’ll get the little bugger on the left that contains all that stuff. The design…[Read more]

  • I’m just sitting down right now to fix the resolution problems. Anyone running less than a 1024px wide monitor will have the menu put in the “normal” spot.

Granted, I probably should have looked at the store before commenting on it! If you click the link, it brings you over to RevMan’s site –

Give me a few minutes to pull my foot outa my mouth..

Don’t worry about sounding like a jerk – the way you questioned our ability in this regard was pretty tame in comparison with what we’ve been on the receiving end of lately. This would likely be a question specifically for TAAB. Based on the email that was forwarded to me and the other developers which was between TAAB and RevMan, we assume that…[Read more]

  • I’ll hop on it monday, as well as any other concerns (and of course the couple that came up tonight). Unfortunately I ran out of hours for this weekend 😛

  • Thanks for the heads up – I’m workin on that right now.

  • Err, sorry – I guess we were talking about two different kinds of reviews. In the case that you are probably referring to – yes, the newest ones are first. Like I said though, you’ll get something soon that should take care of all that clutter – the whole thing needs to be redone. I hadn’t anticipated the amount of stuff that went into a film…[Read more]

  • Actually, its not even set up like that – just wander over to a film in the directory somewhere and if you are a reviewer it’ll show it needing to be reviewed. I’m working on a new moderator section that will give you a personalized list of what you have/haven’t reviewed as well as films that need the go-ahead for being added into the directory.

  • Good – because its live 😛

We were running short on time, so a design had to go up. Check it out on the front page – I’m still working on it, but so far it looks pretty good. We’ll have to do some cleanup work throughout the site as most of the styles were stripped out..

For tonight, I’m going to go home and relax for a while. You should…[Read more]

  • So, its currently 1am and I can’t sleep. So I played around in a graphics program for a bit and came up with my own design. Its based off of the last one, but shinier.

Hopefully we’re starting to get on target here :P.

By the way, the green around ‘resources’ basically means that it is the currently selected page. Granted, you ARE looking…[Read more]

  • Alright, good news. The ratings system is on its feet (finally). Any member of the review panel can look at a film and rate it. It will look something like this:
I’ll take that out fairly soon. I think the last thing to do there is to make the average numbers show up.. and then just start the long process of…[Read more]

  • Probably should have been more specific – I meant that if you clicked on the title it would bring you to the film page. Either way, looks like we are on the same page (notably the film one 😛 )

  • Not a bad idea at all. Maybe have the title (truncated if need be) below the movie’s ‘reel picture’? Or when you click on the movie’s picture on the reel, it would transfer it over to the ‘big screen’ with a title that you could click on for more information? (i.e. review, director comments, link to the director profile, etc)

  • After looking at the 4th one for a bit, I’m thinking that perhaps the blue for the title and footer should be toned down just a little bit (or darkened). I am also agreeing on the white ‘blur’ – the blur should be a slightly darker color than what it is sitting directly on top of (note the yellow block – its title letters have a slight dark blur…[Read more]

  • Oh, we spent about 10 minutes. The problem is, that term has been hijacked in a number of different ways. Good point though – we should come up with a “Cool” name. It’ll likely just be an xml feed of the weekly pick.

  • stephenl replied to the topic The Store! in the forum Site Feedback 7 years, 11 months ago

Most of the money goes to Amazon (they are the ones selling the product after all). After that, I’m not sure what percent goes back to the site, but from my experience its between 5 and 10 percent. That will end up getting eaten up by server hosting or improvements to the site.

  • I’m working on that tonight – not guarenteed to get done tonight, but the review panel should start noticing the option to reivew the film pop up.
