Let it go Mousequeso, I’m not interested in seeing any wars crop up on this thread :P

Besides, the design has been settled on if for no other reason than it looks decent. If folks have better designs, then perhaps they should post them?

  • Perfect, thanks. Oh, if you head over to any place OTHER THAN the community section, you should see two links on the left (or top, depending on your resolution). One for your director profile and the other to view your films. You can go in and edit any information on films that you own now. Tags are stripped for saftey’s sake.

  • Also – could someone tell me who actually owns these films? I’d like to get them registered under the appropriate owner. Especially since I’m about to enable users to edit the film information.

  • Ok – here’s a reply to (basically) everything.

I added a script in to determine your browser window size on load, so if you are running a resolution under 1280 pixels wide, your ‘control panel’ (logout, messages, etc) will be on the top like it was. Otherwise, you’ll get the little bugger on the left that contains all that stuff. The design…[Read more]

I’m just sitting down right now to fix the resolution problems. Anyone running less than a 1024px wide monitor will have the menu put in the “normal” spot.

  • I’ll hop on it monday, as well as any other concerns (and of course the couple that came up tonight). Unfortunately I ran out of hours for this weekend :P

  • Thanks for the heads up – I’m workin on that right now.

  • Err, sorry – I guess we were talking about two different kinds of reviews. In the case that you are probably referring to – yes, the newest ones are first. Like I said though, you’ll get something soon that should take care of all that clutter – the whole thing needs to be redone. I hadn’t anticipated the amount of stuff that went into a film…[Read more]

  • Actually, its not even set up like that – just wander over to a film in the directory somewhere and if you are a reviewer it’ll show it needing to be reviewed. I’m working on a new moderator section that will give you a personalized list of what you have/haven’t reviewed as well as films that need the go-ahead for being added into the directory.

Good – because its live :P

We were running short on time, so a design had to go up. Check it out on the front page – I’m still working on it, but so far it looks pretty good. We’ll have to do some cleanup work throughout the site as most of the styles were stripped out..

For tonight, I’m going to go home and relax for a while. You should…[Read more]

  • Alright, good news. The ratings system is on its feet (finally). Any member of the review panel can look at a film and rate it. It will look something like this:
    http://www.brickfilms.com/films/213
I’ll take that out fairly soon. I think the last thing to do there is to make the average numbers show up.. and then just start the long process of…[Read more]

After looking at the 4th one for a bit, I’m thinking that perhaps the blue for the title and footer should be toned down just a little bit (or darkened). I am also agreeing on the white ‘blur’ – the blur should be a slightly darker color than what it is sitting directly on top of (note the yellow block – its title letters have a slight dark blur…[Read more]

  • I’m working on that tonight – not guarenteed to get done tonight, but the review panel should start noticing the option to reivew the film pop up.

  • There are about 40 films still in queue because we’re short on reviewers. Try looking up some of the members of the review board and get after them to do more reviewing :D !

  • I like it, and I’m going to do it.

i.e. it is definitely on the platter of things to do.

  • Not bad, not bad. I’ll send this over to the designer for reference – he’s just started on a new site design though, so I’m not sure if it’ll fit. Either way, lets see what happens over the next week. You may be pleasently suprised!

  • CSS is completely enabled – you can go and mess with it all you want. In regards to the links – good catch. I’ll fix that up right now..

  • Another quick update – you can go in and start making profiles now. It will strip out any javascript or embeds (for security reasons) but you can do anything else – including styles. I’ll be completing my profile shortly.

  • Late reply, but here it is. You can just go in and add the video yourself – just hit up the films section and you should see a link at the top about adding a film. If you give the youtube/vimeo link, it won’t add it to the channel.

Actually, here is my two cents on the matter. Keep in mind that there was a previous developer working on this – all we did was import all of his stuff and shredded what didn’t work (which was like.. 90%). However I don’t know a thing about forum software, so if it was something left over from him, I wouldn’t have known to look for it (or even…[Read more]
