I certainly wouldn’t criticize someone for pushing the self-promotion angle, but what’s with the omnipresent “Property of Jonathan Markiewitz” displayed throughout the video?
It’s like I’m being scolded “Don’t dare think of stealing this great film” while I’m trying to watch it – how completely distracting!
Because I’m an old man I thought this thread was going to be about Fantastic Four movies.
I just now had a chance to download and watch this video. Absolutely brilliant! Definitely one of the most interesting and enjoyable works I’ve seen from the brickfilms community in 2003. It’s all too easy to imagine that most folks aren’t prepared (on a number of levels) to deal with something like this – the mere fact that LoganArts would even…[Read more]
How about combining two of the ideas and making it an autobiographical Twilight Zone themed contest?
Personally, I’ve had several incredibly bizarre things happen to me over the years and at least a few of them can not be directly attributed to good chemicals gone bad. Not necessarily supernatural (let’s not get silly) but just, ya know, weird…[Read more]

Why not take the Seinfeldian approach and make your “feature length film” about some guys who in the true Rooney/Garland spirit decide to “put on a show” but, being cursed with a lack of imagination…[Read more]

So are you done yet?
Another Ween song given the brickmation treatment? Well right on! Nothing wrong with that. I loves me some Ween (as perhaps three or four folks around here are aware of). First, let me say – great song choice. Mainly because you didn’t choose one of the couple of Ween tunes that I still hope to make videos for if I ever have time to return to…[Read more]
Catching up on the latest brickfilms releases and stumbled across this one. Intrigued by comments of other posters I downloaded and viewed it. To answer the most obvious question – No, being under the influence of drugs did not in anyway aid in the comprehension of the video. Since it was produced as a college project I’m sure the piece is just…[Read more]
Not so much advice as a suggestion:
Until someone does buy you pants, just wrap a towel around you.
Oh yeah – welcome!
Yeah right – the White Stripes invented LEGO animation ALL THE WAY back in January of 2002!
I’ve seen a lot of REALLY STUPID shinola on these forums but this is probably the grand prize winner of them all.
And gee Walt, do you think maybe an official LEGO animation project might look better than the efforts here because when the company…[Read more]
Here’s some stuff from me:
LEGO Studios (Fall, 2000) came before Jason created the BrickFilms.com site (December, 2000) – not the other way around.
Prior to that LEGO generated interest in “LEGO movie-making” with the LEGO Maniac’s Coolest Home Video Contest in Spring, 2000.
A search of the rec.toys.lego newsgroup at groups.google.com…[Read more]

Hey op1studios – thanks for your more rational explanation.
Up in Bug Tussel they were still using live musical accompaniment to all the best Gloria Swanson and Hoot Gibson films well into the 1980’s.
Besides, for most of the people around here, the 1970’s might as well have been the 1930’s.
Whereas for me, I scoff at the idea that…[Read more]
Back in the old days (like in the 1970’s and stuff) before there was sound in films (and they became “talkies”), the picture show would be accompanied by a jacked-up-on-caffeine pianist who would provide a musical soundtrack to the action on the screen.
The countdown numbers at the beginning of the movie would let the pianist know when to kick…[Read more]
In answer to the questions posed:
1. Since I couldn’t compete when folks were bragging about their computers a few months back I figured I’d get in on this thread. I snapped off a couple of pictures of most of my collection:
Howdy and welcome to the neighborhood. Your idea of creating a brickmation version of HMS Pinafore definitely sounds interesting.
My only advice is to be completely unconcerned with whether or not folks around here would be interested in seeing it. Sounds to me like the kind of project that YOU would need to be obsessed with in…[Read more]
