Well, the guys in charge are getting in to a bad habit of locking all their threads before any discussion.
Most of you will either be running for a ministry or voting for the ministers. Its very important that you know why the candidates are running (hence the campaigning) as well as what they should be doing if they make it to the ministry. Seeing as the Elections page isn’t linked anywhere are will probably be changing soon here’s a summary of the ministers’ duties.
Thought I’d post this thread here so people can quickly refer to something to make a better decision on who to vote for. All information (which was written for the last elections) can be found at the Elections Page

Ministry of Film Rating
In charge of administrating and encouraging the rating of films in our directory. The Minister of Film Rating is expected to cooperate with the Minister of Film Reviews.

Minister of Film Contests
Perhaps more for the more committed and reliable members of the community. Remember it won’t just be an easy way to be on the judging panel, the minister will need to organise prizes for the contests (especially the big annual one) as well as rules, deadlines etc.

Minister of Filming Resources
Recently cleaned up and reorganised, the Filming Resources section is a very important part of the site. It needs to be kept up to date, clear out the dead links and insert the new resources which are found.
The MoFR should have decent HTML and Brickfilming skills. Interaction with the Minister of Truth and Minister of Information is expected, to keep all informational areas of the site in agreement.

Minister of Truth
Responsible for the Wiki. Unlike the MoFR, you will not have to keep everything up to date, user input and contributions allow the community to run the Wiki. The MoT will need to keep it under control and make sure it is not abused. I would also advice the MoT to encourage more brickfilmers to make useful contributions.

Minister of Site Infrastructure
Probably best way to describe this is: Z’s job.

I’m not sure why this is up for election, I’d rather appoint a specific person. Ask for applicants, give them interviews etc. Its a rather big job that could totally screw up the entire site if done wrong.

Election Commissioner
A simple job, you may think, just get it right on the night, you’ve only got one chance.
Responsible for organising the elections, keep people up to date with the voting

Minister of Film Reviews
In charge of the Review Panel, the directory, reviewing and will need to work with the Minister of Film Ratings.

Minister of Broadcasting
“In charge of the official Brickfilms Podcast. This is Pierre’s pet project, and will remain exempt from the elections until he decides he’d like to turn it over to someone else.”
– well Pierre hasn’t posted since October. Are the admins giving away his position or have I missed something?
