I’m just sitting the comp out so I can spend more time working on OOT2.
After much thought and consideration, I have decided to go halfway and extend the deadline by 1 week. It’s not much, but it may be enough to bring in an entry or two we may not have had otherwise.
While the contest is a competition, my primary reason for holding it is not to determine who can make the best film. In fact, I’m not really interested in that much at all. Really, my motivation is to try and encourage the production of more and better films and hopefully push people a little further in their filmmaking than they may have gone on their own.
So it’s in this spirit that the deadline will be extended, but not the full 2 weeks. It’s also in my interest to be as fair as possible, and I think it would be far too unfair to some people if too much extra time was added.
The Trash Heap has spoken. Nyaaahhhhh!
I’m spending my time in pre-production of my major film featured in my sig than an APE entry.
So the new deadline is midnight Feb. 16, right?
Since so many needed more time, I have decided to enter 2 films. :wink

I’m really looking forward to OOT2. Do you have a time frame when we can expect it?
Not at the moment. I’m hoping to get it done in the next couple of months, but I keep going back and redoing bits, so it’s taking a while.
I just finished my first entry.
Whew – finished my APE film… now to use the extra time to replace that bad scene with a better one… This is sweet, if I can’t get it done on time at least I have something to submit!
When would be a good time to start uploading the films to archive.org? We need to have them available by the deadline.
Since I’ve not used archive.org before, I don’t have a very good feel for how long it typically takes for a film to be approved there. So… I don’t know. If you’re worried about having it submitted in time, I happily offer an ftp directory I’ve created just for people to upload their entries.
