    Whatever.

Okay, okay, I overreacted. Your high def TV (HDTV) is far better than any TV on the market, but it still has a resolution less than that of the better computer monitor. Your HDTV has 1080i or p is better. A 1600 by 1280 monitor would take that video resolution and ask for more.

I am jealous of you HDTV though. Do you get HDTV off satellite or are you one of the lucky few getting it from cable?

Lucky few? Yeah okay, whatever. We get it from cable. *Shrug* we don’t watch much anyway.

My dad backed me up in the “Our tv is better then our ‘puter monitor” thing, and he should know ;) Sorry for any confusion this caused, I forgot that we had such a good tv.

I would like to ask Todd if it’s ok if we place all of the entries on one VHS tape. It would save us a lot in shipping and overall expenses. Please consider this.

Sorry, I need all the entries from a single artist on one video tape, and separate artists on separate tapes. Place your first entry on the tape first and second entry on the tape second. Time allowing, all entries will be entered into the competition. If time does not permit then only the first entry will be entered into the competition.

In order to manage the competition and be fair, I need all entries to be separated by artist on separate video tape.

There are ways to share the cost and save some money in the long run. All of the entries can be placed in the same shipment.

Your Dad, the broadcast engineer? Your Dad the electrical engineer? Your Dad the Best-Dad-In-The-World?

Your Dad says it’s better. I can’t find fault with that. But what does your Dad do that makes him an expert? I spent 4 years studying technology and working with all kinds of technology.

Believe me when I say, a high-end graphics card and a high-end computer monitor is better resolution than high end HDTV television, when resolution is used as the measure.

Are you using the same measure? We could be talking apples and oranges here. I have friends that watch HDTV signals on their computer monitors from pirated satellite signals and things look just as good on them as on the store HDTV displays. The only difference is the image on the computer monitor is smaller than the one on the TV. The difference is the TV has bigger pixels, but fewer of them. The computer monitor has small pixels, but more of them.

If your Dad knows something I don’t know. Share it with me. I am always looking to learn more. And if I got something wrong, I will be the first to admit it and it will give me a chance to change my understanding.

    *Bucks up and admits it*

Okay, after reading all that, I agree I was wrong.

Nothing much more to say really. I’m not mad, no reason to carry this any further.

Don’t really know why my dad said that it was better, we don’t have the best monitor in the world, I must have just got confused abotu what he said.

Oh and Best-Dad-In-The-World? You got it, thats him. But I DIDN”T say he knows everything, cause he doesn’t. I still whoop him hollow at making web pages and beating videogames. ;)

So how are we all going with our entries?

    On track? Behind schedule?

    Haven’t started?

I’m well and truly in post production now, but I haven’t looked at it for about a week and a half.

Haven’t started. Trying to get my other project done, then I’ll spend a weekend and do this. My song is only about a minute or so.

I have a music video done.

It’s only 33 seconds, and not made specifically for BrickFest, but if I don’t have time for a more elaborate work (which is not unlikely, with 4 busy weeks to go until vacation), this one will enter the competition.

I dunno about me. I’ve animated about 1.5 min. The song lasts for 4 min. and I’m quite unsure if I’ll get it done. It takes so much time. I work and work, but the progress is so small. If I get it done I promise you that it will be good! :)

I have well over a minute shot for a 2 minute clip. Some of it is quite good, some of it I have found better ways to animate and intend to reshoot.
Jared has made progress with the credits and titles and is preparing to edit my mass of clips into a coherent film.
I’m a slow animator and have been averaging about 15 seconds a week…
In any case, I’m sure were going to make the deadline and have high hopes that this will be a well recieved entry. :D
