I think that if someone is already a candidate, and you were going to second them, just tell them of your support in their thread, and then you don’t need to in this one.

I don’t think it really matters either way.
If your candidate of choice has already qualified (with 4 seconds), then there’s no reason to second them; but it’s up to your discretion if you want to.
Also, if your pick has enough seconds, and you don’t believe anyone else is well suited for the job – no one requires you to guilt-second the other members to help qualify them.

I don’t know that it’s an issue…at all. If you want to support your candidate whether your second matters or not, that’s fine. If you want to help someone else qualify, because your candidate has enough seconds, that’s fine too. If you don’t want to second anyone, you’re also free to do that.
