LOOK FOR CONTEST #2 DETAILS ON PAGE 3

Commercial Contest: The Temp Episode #1
Here at Lieberman Bros. we are making an online stopmotion series. The series is called “The Temp” Now since it’s a series and a show why don’t we put in some commercials.

So we thought of some commercials that we could make to put into the show. Some were okay, but we figured it would be much more interesting if the commercials were made by others.

Then we started to think a little and before you knew it we were hosting a contest. However, unfortunatly unlike other contests this contest will have no prizes other than the glory of your commercial being on the show. We are looking for 2-5 commercials for episode #1 and 3-8 for episode #2.

If you’d like to see the trailer for The Temp, go to our movies page ( http://www.liebermanbros.cjb.net ). If you’d like some info on episode #1 go to the comming soon page.

But, just like other contests this one does have some rules and regulations. They are;

-No very bad swearing/profanity will be accepted (Mild language allowed, if not sure post word and we’ll let you know if it’s ok.
-No adult themes
-Commercials must be no longer than 30 seconds. (20 seconds or less recomended)
-Commercials must not be advertisements for any actual product
-Commercial may be an advertisement for another brickfilm (only brickfilms), e.g. trailer.
-Commercial may be an advertisement for brickfilm related sites ONLY
-Commercial must BE ONLY DONE IN BRICKS or computer animated bricks! (duh!)
-Commercials recomended to be a reasonable size (preferably 6 M.B. or less)
-Commercials recomended to be in the .avi or .mov formats.
-Only one commercial entry per director
-Please note that it is allowed to submit a commercial or trailer that has already been on the web.

All submissions are to be sent to darkgreen99@hotmail.com. Entries must be recieved by 12:00 p.m (Eastern Time), November 15th, 2003. All email entries must be accompanied with;
-The names of all directors
-A working link to commercial
-Director’s website
-People who worked on the commercial and what they did (for credits)

Well that’s about it. If you find any errors, have any suggestions, or questions please send us an email at darkgreen99@hotmail.com

Thank-you and Good Luck to All! :D

The winner will get free advertising with in a the new show series. As for actual prizes (ones that cost money) we can’t give out for two reasons. 1 we’re flat broke  and 2 it’s only our first contest :) .

As for sooooooooo many limitations. It’s not that many. It’s basic rules plus a few others due to the fact that it’s a commercial. As for the TIME LIMIT it’s okay to be above a little. :)

As for swearing the only words not allowed hell is allowed sh*t is allowed crap is allowed. Basically use common sense. As for it being in an avi or move formatte it doesn’t have to be, but preferable, same for size. However, it really doesn’t matter for those 2, but it’s preferable. And resolution we have decided doesn’t matter.

And it can be of anything you want as long as it’s not

-a commercial for a real life product, ex. come buy best lock at Walmart

And it should be

-it can only be for brick related content and must be in bricks or computer animated bricks.

And VIOLENCE is absolutly, positivly ALLOWED!!!

iF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS PLZ DONT HESITATE TO ASK :)

Free advertising? Huh? Why in the world would anyone here want to advertise anything?!?

I could probably send you a blank 15 sec avi file with some snickering on it…

Hey I know it would be disqualified, but, its better than absolutely no entries to your comp….

I’m sorry, I have a crick in my neck and am in a poor humor today…. :shake

Good point there James. Something where i always have been looking for is an annual Brickfilms Academy awards, something like that, with no “theme”, anything you want with different categories for really neat prizes.

P.S. Lieberman, there is something called “EDITING YOUR POSTS” so you can ACTUALLY NOT WASTE bandwith.

Last year we had the Plast Awards, which were just such a thing. I hope T and Litervis will hold it again this year. The really neat prizes were Best-Lock sets at the time.

Maybe this time can call them the Rowoldts! (I hope i spelled his name right.)

P.S. For you newbies out there, Jason Rowoldt founded this site and is now currently somewhere on the moon being confronted by a great black monolith.

What about frame size? 640×480, 320×240, DVD… specific codecs? etc.

You mentioned not using actual products…I’m also assuming that you want no copyrighted material (i.e. music) since this will be a public thing that may evolve into something serious.

Personally I think it will be a hoot.. I’m thinking of some ideas for my commercial (note how none of these are actual copyrighted items):

Trinitys Karate Studio: Learn slow-motion kicking, black belts will be able to stop in midair.

Dexters Mad Scientist Lab: Giant Lizard destroying your town? Call us for speedy custom weapons design.

Lukes Pilot Training: can’t seem to get away from Imperial ships? Having trouble angling the deflector shields? Stop by for our intensive 2-week pilot training.

Jacks General Contracting: has Evil taken over your village? need some assistance with robotic spiders? Call Jack, serious inquiries welcome.

Janes Animal Rescue: Feral monkeys bothering you? Call us for safe effective trapping, containment and shipment to research facilities.

Monster Starship: This week Geordie converts a surface shuttle into a pod racer.

All of those are excellent commercials and we’d accept anyone of them with great pleasure. :D
It is also okay to use copyright material, for we have used copyright material in the show. It’s okay because we have no intention of using the show to make money.

As for the frame size it really doesn’t matter, but is preferable to be 480×360(the resoulution the show is being filmed in). :)

Codec wise it really doesn’t matter as long as the quality is good and the commercial is a resonable size. However, we recomend the DivX codec. Free and available at http://www.divx.com)

And as far as format goes, we’ll accept any format. (If you’d like to make our lives much easier please make it in the .avi format)

If anyone has absoulutly anymore questions don’t hesitate to ask at all.

Thanx and GL to all. :D :)
