    My entries can be found at their webpage HERE or in the brickfilms FTP directory.

    Each film is available as a hi-res divx avi and as hi- and lo-res RM files.

    An’ D was my original APE entry. It was an idea that I had been playing with for a while and just fit the contest perfectly. ๐Ÿ˜€

    APE Cash In came about when I had an extra week for the contest. The set was there, so I used it. ๐Ÿ˜†

    Hope everyone enjoys the films! I especially hope Hali, Buxton, and Bluntman like the Cash In. :wink

    Some quick comments and thoughts:

    SPOILERS:
    “An’D”

    – Cutting back in forth between the mythical scenes and the friends gathered around the RPG party table was a very cool idea.
    – This film HAD permission to use someone elseโ€™s film clips. Well done!

    “APE Cash Inโ€

    – โ€œCash In?โ€ maybe โ€œSell out?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜†
    – Some cute references to other films, but not necessarily peculiar. Nice to see the animator gets into his own film!

    Actually, the clips are from my film, Black Knight. The other filmmakers “term” appears somewhere else in the film. :wink

    I loved An’D!!!

    Spoilaz
    The animation and story was well thought out.How did you do the TV effect? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I remember making a RPG/dungeon crawl film a few years back,but yours was much better(and funniar).Was that head in a jar?

    Nice work!I’ll review Cash In later.

    No, that is “skull in a jar”, but I believe that he is related to “head in a jar”. ๐Ÿ˜†

    The TV was done in After Effects. The area is masked, then another video is composited in that area.

    Ok, you’re quite correct in that. There is another film in the contest that outright stole one of Bluntman’s characters; and I saw that one before I saw yours. I guess I just posted this comment before the relevance is more clear to everyone. Now that I watch more closely, I remember those clips now!

    Hey, not a problem. I know how I would feel if someone stole from me. I would not use some other brickfilmer’s character without asking. And, putting in clips from one of their films would be even worse. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

    Richard,

    You have NO IDEA how much time I spent playing D&D! Back in the OLD days, when it was published as a set of paperback pamphlets.

    Spoilage;
    Very cool intercutting between the two realities.
    I liked the floating time/space warp effect
    VERY nice work dropping in the films onto the TV in the background!

    Cash in;

    I loved all the movie in-jokes. this is a true FAN FILM!
    Funny that we both put ourselves into our films. Kathy and I looked at each other when we saw you AND at your Mmovie poster in An D. Parallel develpoment!

    Excellent work overall! Superb animation and great story telling!

    Thanks Dave, I really liked your entry as well. I see what you mean about parallel thinking. Seems that there were several instances of that in the comp. :wink

    On the D&D, I started with the old box version, had pamphlet manuals like you describe. I also had the first version players manual, probably still do somewhere at my parents house. ๐Ÿ˜€

    We used to play every weekend, maybe go to Rocky Horror at midnight if it was playing in town. Geek’s night out! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
