I agree with LegosJedi up to some point. Maybe three seconds maximum, and if the elected person already has three seconds other seconds don’t count and the person can second another person?

I take great offense at that.

Just wait and see, punk! :o

Actually, there were a whole pile of people who could’ve thrown their seconds in, but didn’t. One reason might be that they were waiting to do so. Since the elections were held rather abruptly, and without prior warning, they never had a chance to finally throw in their second. Another could just be simple voter apathy. Or maybe, just maybe, most of the people out there were happy with the candidates that had already been seconded.

Watson, I didn’t mean you. It was a hypothetical example.

Squash didn’t become a candidate for MoI because he didn’t get enough seconds. And neither of the people who did make it would have been my first choice to vote for. LegosJedi has a point.

It’s true, I was in an election last time. Now I’m not, I dropped out because I new I wasn’t going to get enough seconds. People, in fact, most people here who vote, vote for the most popular. I try to even the score, I want to show that a rookie can be just as good.

There’s nothing against asking people to second you.

True, but people shouldn’t need to be asked to second someone.

You ask people to vote for you. What’s the difference?

I never ask people to vote for me. I try to show them why to vote for me.

How about you ask people to help you getting into the elections?

In the Dutch system it also works like this. If you want to start a new party, you need thirty people that say “I’m okay with him starting a new party”. So the person who wants to start a new party gets on the streets and starts asking persons if they help him start up his own party by signing.

The “second” system we have here works similarly. For getting seconds people don’t have to agree with you. You just need them to say “I second LegosJedi”. They could even vote for another person in the actual elections afterwards.

Unfortunately, some people don’t seem to realize that.

I’ll vote for Watson if he approves mine and Krick’s mini-IDEA Trailer Contest.

Honestly if someone was elected and doesn’t act….can anyone really stop Rev from just kicking them out of the position as he sees fit? I wouldn’t really be that worried.
