…we hardly get any new films anymore. Why? Well, one could say is that many active brickfilmers go to BIM, and one could also say…well, I can’t think of another reason. But what is true is that there needs to be more films posted.

This contest wouldn’t have very many specifications, but it should still encourage people to think creatively. I’m thinking along the lines of an open ended contest that still has a tiny bit of a theme, and highly encourages people to be creative and try different things.

This contest would also be Brickfilms.com only. This is to encourage people to make more films and post them here more. I wouldn’t want this contest to be run between two sites. No that I’m noncompetitive or anything, but I hope you understand the reason.

I would also encourage a lenient deadline so that people will have more time to be creative and try out different things and different styles of filmmaking.

So here’s a thread to discuss different ideas and what you think of the core concept of a lenient contest designed to encourage creative film making and more active brickfilming on this site.

Also, if this ever comes to life, I’d like to run it.

^Amen, I’m sure they’ll open it soon enough.

Why don’t we have a lightsaber choreography contest like TheForce.net does? Except brickfilmed?

The point of this would be to encourage creativity. While a lightsaber battle might encourage some creative ideas, its not really original…and I doubt we would see some truly creative stuff.

…and I would win.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA… sorry, I’m kidding. Honestly.

Lightsaber battles have to be VERY well choreographed in order to be interesting. And I don’t think I could do that with minifigs…
