Teachers said this to me during all my high school so my conlcusion is : it’s more dangerous to read the book than to read summaries on internet (cause you only read the important stuff |

i just finished the fifth one, and thought it was reeealy good! Each book, Rowling throws some sort of “spice” in it, and keeps building from the spice, if you get what i mean… SPOLIERS*************************************** God i hated Umbridge! And also, what was that arch thing the sirius fell through? I never got that! END SPOILERS |

” Just as this reunion is taking place Gandalf reappears, having ultimately defeated the evil Radagast; he reveals that there were actually two of him all along, and the other one is still trapped at Orthanc, now under the control of the wizard Saruman, Gandalf’s half-brother. Everybody goes to Orthanc and frees Gandalf’s twin, but the first Gandalf dies fighting Saruman at the top of Zirak-Ziogi, the great mountain of Japan.” :laughcry: Cometgreen |

Harry Potter 5 was so long, that I had to stop reading it and start listening to the audio book version. And I must say it’s better than 1, 2, and 4, but 3 is still the best in the series. *SOB* My favorite character is gone for good! But I’ll get over it. :wink - Lewa11 |

(Spoiler) Dandenmark: The “arch thing” is apparently a sort of gateway to the world of the dead — whoever passes through the veil exits the world of the living, and, well, dies. While it isn’t discussed in the book, I got the idea, from the rows of benches and Dumbledore’s reference to the room as the “Death Chamber,” that the gateway was perhaps used as a method of execution, although this is just a thought. |

ADVISORY The following post contains spoilers. You have been warned . . . I finished reading it last week, and found it very enjoyable. Yeah, so I’m one of those adults who enjoy reading these kids’ books, but I don’t think this is kids stuff anymore, and that’s why it’s getting fascinating. Rowling certainly knows how to keep the reader hooked in this book. Every time a character was seriously attacked, I thought they would be ‘the one’. Even thought Hermione was gonna get it. As soon as they announced that someone major was gonna die, I thought it would be Sirius. It was logical, as that’s all Harry had left of his family. It also makes more sense for Harry to lose, as to build up more hatred to Voldemort, and defeat him . . . if that’s how it’s gonna end. But by far the best character in this one was Dumbledore. Excellent escape from his office in front of the Ministry of Magic goons. However, Hogwarts won’t be the same without Fred and George Weasley, though . . . Hem hem! End of Spoilers |

I see you’re still having trouble with that keyboard, Proteus. I wasn’t terribly impressed with The Order of the Phoenix. ***SPOILERS*** All the other books have had a fairly well-defined threat building throughout the book, with Harry thwarting it right at the end. With this one the final showdown didn’t seem to be in any way related to the book that had gone before – suddenly, a big gang of death eaters appear and make things difficult for our hero. Umbridge was nasty but ultimately toothless. You have to wonder why Dumbledore didn’t just start kicking Ministry ass from the start. And don’t get me started on “the death”. *** END SPOILERS *** |
