Damn, I’ve should’ve done a short film based upon The Odyssey. :notimpressed:

Well I’m still mystified that Hoogiman’s film didn’t make the top ten, but other than that I can’t exactly complain. :wink

So the fact that The Odyssey is one of the most un-original stories ever, really didn’t click in?
I don’t see how a mythological story, that has been re-used millions of times, could ever reach anywhere near the top of an original story category!

Some people may not have been thinking about the logistics of that situation…

I must admit that Hoogiman’s entry is one I keep coming back to on the DVD. I really like the style of humor he used. My favorite line is “I’m going to China!” The way it’s said is just perfect.

My personal feeling is that in voting for story, people weren’t taking “adventurousness” into account very much. I thought that Lost and The Eye of Aphrodite should have fared better in this category.

I agree. Lost was very impressive, a true adventure. Perhaps a fourth category of judgement based solely on theme would make a difference in future competitions.

    BUMP.
You know, the only people that seem to have their films nominated are the much older guys. Why can’t we teenagers have a chance too?
And also, the events area needs to be changed now that the contest is over.

I’m pretty sure Leftfield is mostly teenagers.

And also, the events area needs to be changed now that the contest is over.

    Indeed.
