Fed up? You’d have to be pretty gullable to fall for this in the first place .

    – Andrew Who thinks it is actually pretty funny.

I agree wholeheartedly. Let’s voice our opinions here and let Josh make the decision.

As for my opinion, I think that we should all call or mail LEGO–but be businesslike and tell them that we buy their products so that we can enter contests and that by not letting us use LEGOs they are hurting their own business. Remember, as Mrgraff said, DON’T CONTACT LEGO YET–Let Josh decide.

If contacting LEGO becomes out of the question, I think option #2 would be best–I have almost no MegaBloks! (and MegaBloks aren’t even 1/10 as usable as LEGOs) It would be a shame, definately, to not have the contest run by Rev, but it would probably be an even bigger shame if we didn’t have the contest at all or had almost no entries (if we used clones).

I wish to second Mrgraff’s word of caution. RevMen is faced with a big decision and I would like to quote Linus Torvald about big decisions:

It helps to realize that the key difference between a big decision and a small one is whether you can fix your decision afterwards. Any decision can be made small by just always making sure that if you were wrong (and you will be wrong), you can always undo the damage later by backtracking. ……
Thus the key to avoiding big decisions becomes to just avoiding to do things that can’t be undone. Don’t get ushered into a corner from which you cannot escape.

Very wise words and we should try to heed them.

    Yeah the “Joshua Leasure gang”

How is this Josh’s fault? All he did was go commerical. How could he, or any of us for that matter, know that it would come to this?

Haven’t you noticed that the only proof anyone has that its a joke is a few posts that have been deleted to keep the chaos to a minimun, and the fact that “the LEGO® trademark should not be incorporated into other endeavors.” is nowhere on the Fairplay page where it is stated to be?
Also, the statement “So called “clone bricks” are permitted; and encouraged” is not ended with a period. It is also a contradiction to what is written on LEGO.com “We do not like all the pirate copies of LEGO® elements which we have seen, especially during the past 25 years. We would like to explain why.”
    AFJ, Y’all!
Wait 24 hours, then jump to conclusions. If you jump too soon, you’ll miss the boat.
And that means you’ll get wet. Which means that an electrical current can pass through your body more easily.
