Oh, cool! I had this great idea for a short film a long ways back involving a heroic (but not exactly the smartest) figure. This may be a nice oppurtunity to ressurect that idea AND get me back into the swing o’ things.
So, any other details we need to know about? EDIT: Nevermind.
Bonzai, who’s exited.March 1, 2005 at 1:50 pm #89972
Just to make sure, is this a non-exclusive OR? Is it ok to portray good and bad equally in one film?
Good and Evil can both be betrayed. It would be difficult to show one without the other. However, you must choose either a hero or a villain to be the focus of your film.
Time limits? Deadines?
These things are covered in the first post.March 1, 2005 at 2:11 pm #89981
I’d still like to know if entries have to be unreleased, I cannot find anything explicit in the first post about that. Will it be ok to show a movie at that upcoming German brickfilm festival and submit it for the HaV contest afterwards?

Yes, they must remain unreleased until the submission deadline. I didn’t state it in the first post but it’s on the forthcoming contest page.March 1, 2005 at 2:55 pm #89990
Nice Theme! Lets see, if i find the time to enter… …I have to write up my PhD Thesis
When will the contest page appear? (or a hint on the news).

How does one post a movie somewhere so that it is available to the judges and yet remains ¨unreleased¨? If this has already been covered somewhere, my apologies; but I would still appreciate it if someone point me in the right direction.March 1, 2005 at 3:06 pm #89992

Yes, it does. It’s the Norwegian word for ocean…March 1, 2005 at 3:09 pm #89993

The film remains hidden from the judges until the deadline as well. Before the deadline, you must upload your film somewhere and provide me with a link to it. Only I will see all of the films before the deadline. If needed, I can provide you with server space to upload. For contests I always put all of the films on the brickfilms server.March 1, 2005 at 4:00 pm #90001
I believe I may be in for this one. It should help me get contest expirience.
Realmedia, no more than 3 mb/min
Rev, does DivX codec count as Realmedia? And also with the 3mb/ min, could someone at least explain what that means?
Great idea! I hope to finish in time.

A maximum size of 3 megabytes (3072kb) per minute.
Realmedia is another codec than DivX. I think that’s a no.
