I came back because BiM just keeps taking forever. I want to get back into the brickfilm scene again but to be frank, this new website makes me nauseous :shake I’m gonna post some graphic examples just so you can see what I’m talking about. It’s late and I may be seeing this unclearly but there needs to be improvement or else I fear this site will not last the winter.
be back later…April 23, 2009 at 10:35 am #408063
Most here agree with you, myself included.
But hey, the new owners are sane enough and they seem to be listening to what we say so stick about and we should have things all ship-shape again.April 23, 2009 at 2:18 pm #408064

Don’t lose hope, now that I am administrator we’ve been working on a new directory (modeled loosely after the old one, with some new features and improvements) and we hope to have a working directory open relatively soon.April 23, 2009 at 7:17 pm #408077
Smeagol, might not want to say that so loudly here, in case TAAB didn’t already know.
Schleaps got banned for being admin of ILB, even when it was hosted on the BF server, and it was a test forum.April 23, 2009 at 7:56 pm #408079
I think he got banned for doing this all subversively, and on the BF server, I don’t mind if TaaB knows that I’m now the administrator of BricksInMotion. There’s no need for anybody to try to make a ‘war’ out of this.April 24, 2009 at 1:52 am #408088

We have been responding to user feedback & would welcome yours, too.

okay here are some things that bothered me from my initial visit.
When a guest first comes they are instantly confused in thinking that “they” have films and that they have a directors profile. These links should not be visible. What confused me was, where the hell was the login? finally I looked in community but that’s bull crap. a “login” link should be in place of the directors profile.
Once you figure out how to log in your dissapointed to see just how droll your film is listed.
I like the director’s profile and I really like the addition of the awards section. (I hope that will include the previous awards) But what doesn’t make sense is the “movies” section. Where’s the section that links to your other films? maybe it doesn’t show because I’v only got one on the list for now. But If I wanted to see films by this director where is the link?
Probably the biggest dissapointment is how this website presents our films.
I’m not a fan of embedding flash videos but it can work if done right. In the case of my movie, It doesn’t work because there are 3 more parts. Such scenarios should be remedied or the viewer will be confused where to watch the rest.
Also the placement on the page looks ugly. I would suggest centering the embedded video.
The movie info looks like a damn txt file. The title should be larger and bolded.
The director should have the option to have there REAL name on the movie info. previous BF.com had this feature. We have screen names yes, but we want people to know who we really are (atleast I do)
More download links (again like previous bf.com) such as wmv and mov links would be beneficial too.
I’m not here to bash the designers here because all around I like the design. Although I don’t like it when i just can’t get around and find things. Un intuitive websites are the worst. The previous bf.com seemed very intuitive so just looking back at what they did and applying them can greatly enhance the experience on this website.
Hope that helps.

We definately need more download links.
