This is a very unlikely scenario, but I would make an effort to come down hard on spam and unfriendly posts, respecting the good ol’ rules of Jason when this forum was first created. I feel there’s too much spam in the forums (as in, not ‘Community’ and the LDF) and what would have been locked on sight two years ago is not being locked. There are too many threads plagued with image macros and too many unnecessary posts. I find it sometimes very hard to wade through all of the spam just to find one, decent post.
Some new members are getting the wrong impression and at this current state, many new members aren’t realising the etiquette and what not of the forums until much later. There should be more ‘pointing to the FAQ’ and less sarcastic advice that sometimes confuses newbies.

I think it’s doing more harm to the community than good. While the discussion is healthy, people have carried their not so nice posts out of the LDF.
However, this is mostly due to the unfriendly posts being tolerated outside of the LDF, which *if* I get elected, I will come down hard on.
As in, I’d delete them or lock threads before they get out of hand. 😐 Which doesn’t happen very much at the moment. Yeah.
Like seriously, if you want me to point out to you all of the spam that should be locked, give me five minutes and I’ll find you ten threads.
