So I just got back into animating, but have a problem. After filming a fight scene test, the video has horizontal lines going down the video. It’s kind of something you need to see, so here’s the video –
I don’t know what’s causing it, and I’ve done another test or two that didn’t have it.
I’m using a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000, and I’m using 3 desk lamps, and it’s not my editing software because the pictures where like that before putting them in the editing software. But I dont know if it might be Monkey jam (What I use for taking the pictures). Any help on how to get rid of them?
Hey GoldSwordStudios! I understand your problem and I want to help.
I also use the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 for my animations. Sometimes I get those lines too. One of my guesses is that your lighting is off. You may only want to use two desk lamps.
Another guess is that you need to reset all of your webcam settings to manual.
You may want to try some new software for animation. A good, free program call Helium Frog Animator is what I use and it works very well.
Another thing you may want to try is putting paper over your lamps. It helps reduce light flicker and also may help with the wierd lines.
I hope that this helped.

Wow Thanks, that sounds like a great suggestion! I just realized that I had taken the paper that I usually have on my lamps off when I was doing the test, that’s probably why, and maybe the 3 lamps is overkill. And I’ll definitely check out Helium Frog. Thanks for the advice!
No problem. 😀
Thanks Scar! I think it applies to my camera too since I noticed at times when I take pictures there are some horizontal lines… now I know what to avoid.
