I am a little skeptical about some of those films. The New Neighbor should definitely be added, and Driven should as well, after you get permission from Nathan and Nadine & Charlie. However, I’m not to sure about the other three films. I will go watch them now, and post my thoughts. Now, while I wait for Indy and the Platinum Waffle, I have already watched the other two. Hastings is probably the most deserving to get on the podcast out of the three I am skeptical about. It’s not one of my favorite films, even when coming from Night Owl, it’s not his best quality-wise, and it’s actually quite boring. Blood on the Tracks confused me, and wasn’t to great quality-wise. However, it was an entry for THAC, so I guess you could say that was involved in the lower-quality of the film. Actually, out of all the entries in that contest, Cashman is the only one that I think should be added to the podcast, because it is great quality-wise, it’s funny, has great sets, no set/camera/light bumps, it’s got great effects, and it’s just a great idea. Now, Indy and the Platinum Waffle. Hilarious film, but I don’t think it fits among the other podcast episodes released so far in terms of quality. The film almost looks like it was shot with a LEGO Camera at some parts, while in others, everything looks over-exposed. There are constant set bumps, and major light flickers in the fight scene with the skeletons. Set design isn’t that great either, and there is some copyrighted music. I don’t know how big of an issue that is though, since Rise of the Empire got in the podcast. Remember, there is a certain standard that must be met before a film can be put into the podcast. Consider how many good points and bad points there are in the film, like “Does this film have good quality, or bad?” If the good points outweigh the bad, then the film is acceptable. The four musts, the aspects of the film that must be present in the film, are good animation, sound (if any), camera quality, and a reasonable and interesting story. However, this is all just my opinion. If you really feel these films should be added into the podcast, go right ahead. You’re the boss. -Littlebrick |

What Littlebrick said. Blood on the Tracks was good, but IMO, it’s not worthy of the podcast. Remember, this podcast is supposed to be for the very best brickfilms, ones that are truly amazing, and I don’t think that Blood on the Tracks fits in this category. I don’t know about Indiana Scones, but the other 3 films seem like locks to get on the podcast. I personally think we the members of this panel should vote on films. All of the people on this panel seem to have a good idea of what a well-made brickfilm is, and I don’t think they would want to screw up the results. |
