Badgerboy for Minister of Truth! Easier! Faster! Better!

I’ve always wanted to contribute to Brickfilms.com to make it the best it can be. This site made me realize my true passion in life, and helped me along the way. I visit this site regularly (as in several times a day), and the Wiki is the first place I visit when I need help. I feel I owe a debt to this place, so as Minister of Truth, I will reform the Wiki into a one-stop visit for all Brickfilming help.

Without further ado, my campaign is as follows.

–Badgerboy

How much time would I be able to spend on my desired ministry?

Hours upon hours of time. Really, as much as it takes. I have no commitments to after school sports, or any other activities. Most of the time I have is spent on Brickfilms. The only time I can’t commit to MoT is when I am with my friends, and that isn’t often.

What ideas do I have to expand or improve the ministry?

My plan to expand and improve the Wiki is a simple plan.
-Put all articles from the Resources section into the Wiki to make searching for help easier and simpler.
-Compile lists of helpful threads and make the lists Wiki articles (this has been suggested many times by other people). These will be organized by topic (all thread relating to best camera, all threads relating to animation software, etc.) These will be linked to on the front page of the Wiki.
-Make the Wiki more well known. I will work with whoever I need to to ensure that the Wiki gets a more prominent spot on the front page, specifically, right next to Resources.
-Organize the Wiki more than it is now. I want the Wiki to be laid out so that somebody completely unfamiliar with a Wiki can find what they are looking for.

What unique character qualities would I be able to contribute to this ministry?
I’m a very organized person. I keep everything in a folder, and I keep all those folders in folders :) Keeping the Wiki organized and easy to access and use is my primary goal, and being organized makes that goal so much easier. I’m also a self-dubbed grammar nerd, so I would easily be able to correct any spelling or grammar mistakes in articles to make them easier to understand and follow. I was even elected “Minister of Writing” on a different site for my English skills.

What is my motivation for running for MoT?
Like I said before, this site helped me find my passion. It picked me up when I fell down, and it encouraged me to keep going. This is an amazing community, and I feel I owe something to them for helping me find my passion and my dream, to achieve a career in the movie industry. Being MoT will let me give something back to this community.

Conclusion
Thank you for reading my platform. I want you to understand that everything I have stated in this campaign isn’t a goal; it is a promise. I promise to each and every one of you that I will not only fulfill these promises, but that I am determined to do so.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not be afraid to ask.

Thank you.

Another very good candidate. I am not sure between you and NickMOC. Good luck.

I’m running for MoD and one of my goals is to find the various tutorials that people have posted over time and try to get them into the Wiki, would you be willing to work with me towards that goal?

I would be willing to work with anyone to get all important information, like tutorials, into the wiki. I think putting tutorials that people have written into the wiki is one of the most important things that can be done, because the more information in the wiki, the better it is.

One thing about tutorials: Make sure that you have the author’s permission. I’ve written tutorials that I wouldn’t want in the WIKI.

Yes, this is quite important. Something that comes with the WIKI itself is the fact that it’s open sourced and articles can be edited by anyone. This is something which WIKI articles inherently face when they create a new tutorial. The forums, or other’s websites, however, do not have this inseperatable connection, meaning you need to have permission first before you can copypasta their tutorials.

Thank you for pointing this out. I was hoping it would be obvious that I would seek permission, so I didn’t include it. Just to clarify, I will get permission from the author of a tutorial or anything else to put in the wiki.

I’ll also start a thread for people to submit their tutorials, assuming I’m elected.
