My name is Chris Diaz, and I joined the boards on behalf of the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival. My mandate is to help promote the third edition of the festival, which will take place on the 21st – 23rd of October. We are now in the process of looking for film entries for the festival. The deadline is approaching fast (September 26th) so we are trying to reach as many animators, directors, and producers as we can.
The festival is free to enter, competitive, and there will be awards provided in each of our categories: Professional, Academic, and Independent films, as well as a new category for commercials and advertisements. Last year we were able to get Barry Purves as a guest and judge. Not bad for our second annual! The entry form and a complete listing of festival rules and guidelines can be found on our website:
As the deadline is approaching quickly, we would would like to ask you guys for assistance in spreading the word that the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival is open for submissions. Below is the press release for the Call for Entries, which you may freely distribute to anyone who is either interested in either submitting or spreading the word.
We hope Brickfilms is able to join us in spreading the joy, love and visibility of stop motion films!
Let me know if you have any questions, your help is greatly appreciated!

The 2011 Montreal Stop-Motion Film Festival: Call for entries!
Hot on the heels of the hugely successful second edition of the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival, we are officially opening the Call for Entries for 2011.
To enter your film in the festival, download a submission form, fill it out, and send it in, along with your film.
Deadline for film submissions is: September 26, 2011.
Please refer to the entries section on our website for answers to any questions you might have concerning eligibility, dates, accepted formats, and new rules.
This year, the professional segment has been updated with a new category for films-commercials less than 1 minute in running time and we will have more guest appearance during this week-end long event that promises to be super cool!
The festival will be held in Montreal, from the 21st to the 23rd of October 2011.
Help us spread the word and tell all your Stop Motion friends to participate and join us for the coolest festival around!
