the point of community admin is not to restore the “old thing”. And actually Schlaeps was fired for a reason… And I am afraid that this will not be an election but more a nomination. And the whole responsibility thing is something completely different here.
Anyway about Schlaeps:
I have to say that I fully understand his behavior (as far as there wasn´t something illegal going on, what I don´t think)… Imaging you are doing some project and suddenly this is take away from you. You try and try to get it back in the way you wanted it, and you realize there is no way that that is going to happen. What would you do? Leaving and doing your own thing is the best you can, because you are the one that has to see your face in the mirror. And frankly it is well possible that his site will be better. Which I don´t mind and as far as I understand TAAB nether. But I still would like to be part of this site, and support this community so I try to involve myself as good as I can, and community admin is somehow the best option for me. And like I said above I also think is the best for the community to have a spokesperson/representative…

The “problem” as I see it is that thickasabrick has (repeatedly) stated that she does not wish to be an active participant in the communty. She has the “Admin” status but it should really say “Owner” – but that’s a limitation of the forum software.
Zane is here to do code and support – also not in it for the administrative stuff (and also shouldn’t say “admin”, should have on of the blue ‘Code Monkey’ bars but again – limitation of the forum software).
This means that there really isn’t anybody in an “administrative” position proper. It’s important that there be someone like that for several reasons:
- They can be talked to about problems / suggestions.[/*]
- They can stop small problems before they escalate.[/*]
- They can assign other members to take care of things (mods / ministers) and keep an eye on them.[/*]
- They can act as a filter and fix small problems themselves, pass bigger problems on to the site owners.[/*]
- They can take the time to do the PR stuff that the site owners do not want to do.[/*]
I’m not trying to be adversarial, I’m just calling it like I see it. Humans are sheep and we like to follow. Without somebody in charge to say “this is how it is” then that leaves it open for problems like what happened over the last few days to come up.
This is effectively an application to replace Schlaeps. And I’m pretty sure that I read in one of the few posts’ of TaaB’s that they wanted someone for this position.

Maybe you would be good, but i can’t get myself to vote for you. not after what you said about schleaps. Schleaps was NOT fired for a reason, but because taab though he would oppose her ruining brickfilms, look at the forums, they used to get around 100 posts per day, now they get around 10.

you might want to read what Schlaeps himself wrote about the situation… I am not saying it was totally necessary, and one could have probably resoved the situation elsewise but things happened like they did, and we can not change the past…
I personaly like the courage he had and I am definitely not his enemy, in fact I miss him (on this site) and hope that he can acomplish his goals and ideas…
