I’ve been animating for a while now and I decided to create some custom pieces for minifigures. I’ve created a female torso and a custom arm kit, a kit that can really enhance your brick film. To create these parts though I had to launch a kickstarter and I could use your help spreading the word on it. For the end results, twenty grand seems totally over the top. Surely you can just send some CAD drawings to a 3D printing bureau?
I wish it were that simple, believe me. I do have access to the latest in 3d printing technology but the plastic is too cheap and breaks too easily. Even with ABS 3d printers there is a limitation in colors. Lastly, 3d printers always seem to have those print layers which I think diminishes the quality of the product. I want to use ABS plastic and the only efficient and reliable answer is plastic injection molding. Twenty grand is relatively cheap when it comes to this; I’ve been quoted from 50k to 75k. I found the most affordable company I could.
Thank you for your feedback though.
Who wouldn’t want a mini-figure with boobs? LOL
Good luck man
OK — let’s talk about the bottom line. What would I get in return for a $1000 investment?
I read it says:
Pledge $1,500 or more
Get all Special Edition characters, a copy of the script signed by all voice actors, a copy of the Soundtrack signed by the composer and a HD DVD signed by the director.
Best of luck!
