    Windows? MacOS? Unix?

If it’s Windows, you need to change the file associations as follows:

In Explorer (not Internet Explorer) hold down the Shift key and right-click on a pdf file. You should get a pop-up menu with the option “Open With…” Depending on the version of Windows, you may then have to click on “Choose Program.” Either way, you end up with a dialog box in which you can select teh application you want to associate with pdf files. Locate Acrobat Reader 6.0 and make sure the “Always use this program… ” check box is ticked.

Ever think of asking on the adobe forums?

People are very responsive there; you should get an answer within a day or two.
