This sounds great, but, seriously, how much better could you make a brickfilms with £12500? What exactly do you DO with that money?
The best brickfilms we’ve seen are still made for the supercheap, right? Or am I wrong? Has there been a brickfilm with that much put into it?
Still, what a great couple of competitions.

It’s not about making a “better” brickfilm, it’s about making a broadcast-quality brickfilm. You’d buy a pro stop motion camera and rig for properly controlled camera movements, get some decent lights and filters, pay for rights to professionally recorded soundtrack music, pay for voice actors, pay for software, buy lego, pay for travel to Nick HQ to pitch your ideas, etc, etc. I’d expect to be able to pay for my own time as well, so I’d guess you can take at least a portion of the prize money as “wages”.

Spite Your Face. They probably didn’t get $25K, but I bet they were paid reasonably well for the official Lego promotional films they did.July 18, 2008 at 4:13 pm #396447

I emailed NickToons with some questions about the contest, and they replied very quickly. Maybe within ten minutes. I then emailed them again expressing doubts as to whether we’d see a replay of the LSW Movie Making contest, in which brickfilmers were pretty much snubbed, with even high quality films not being accepted into the submitted films gallery. It’s been about a day, but they haven’t replied.

I think Nicktoons is behind Nickelodien, so they’d probably be looking for comdies. Pirates is an epic action/love story, so I don’t think it would win.[/quote]
And Pirates happens to be longer than the 2 minute time limit. Like, 15 times longer.
