Brickfilms.com is planning their annual contest and is putting out this request for themes. The contest will basically follow the format of last year’s IDEA Competition, but with some appropriate adjustments to the theme, deadlines, prizes, and rules.
The contest submissions will likely be shown at the BrickWorld convention being held in Chicago (June 19-22), and we need to first choose a theme for the competition so that filmmakers can start the process of creating their entries. Other issues will be addressed in the next couple of weeks; but the sooner we can decide upon a theme, the more time entrants will have to produce their films.
So put on your thinking tuques, have a shot of vinegar, and start brainstorming. Don’t be shy about sharing your ideas and don’t be concerned about criticizing others’ ideas. We need to choose a theme as quickly as possible and the more options we have, the better are our chances of choosing a good one.January 11, 2008 at 7:39 pm #360526January 11, 2008 at 8:00 pm #360534

I have a feeling we need to do the snazzy acronym we do every year.
Fans, Idols, and Nobodies – FIN
Hate And Love/Love And Hate – HAL/LAH
Industry, Companies, and Economy – ICE
Man or Machine – MoM
A Big Change – ABC
We could look back at the topic last year. I’ll find it and post a link here.
EDIT: Linky. Personally, I like Blunty’s ‘MAD’ idea from last year.January 11, 2008 at 8:28 pm #360543

I had an idea.
[b]SaD[b]: Serious and Deep.
Basically, the theme would be to make a serious film that is not primarily for laughs. And it must be deep too. I guess it’d be too broad.
I like that Idea too, but people generaly make there films serious for the anual contests(except for krick’s IDEA entry)and you forgot the / in the second [b]
