Anytime you feel the site is in need of a small change or feature, and you don’t want to do it yourself, drop it here. I thought it might be a little easier if they were gathered in one spot. That way when I’m bored, I can come here and knock a few things off the list. I’ll start the list. - Film submission form needs redone (DONE!) |

- Thumbnail upload. I dread the look of the directory in a few years’ time. Yours, Stefan. |

Question : as the film directory continuously – and exponentially ? – grows, I feel drowned by new submissions and I don’t have neither the courage nor the time to watch them all. Could we add a pictogram in front of each movie to resume the overall ratings of this movie. In order to pick up the most interesting ? Open discussion : feel free to answer or open a new topic… |

Well, it’s not a flowchart, but the new guide I just added to the resources section might be a handy thing to have linked in the directory. [: DONE - Z :] and can I ask for a Forum MOD to be put in place that limits the dimentions of a pic used in SIGs… for a while people have been responcible, but more and more people are using ever growing pics in their sigs. aside from the extra loading time, it makes the forums look messy. |

Something I want to write, here just so I don’t forget… This feature would be available to patrons only. You’ll have the ability to receive a weekly email that will list all the films added that week and the review for each film. – DONE What do you think? It’ll help to sort of encourage more people to sign up for patronages (and at 3 bucks for the cheapest, WHY NOT?) |

I’ve got an idea that I’d like to code at some time in the future. Linked account directors – Basically, you could “link” several user accounts to the same director so that any member of the group can edit/submit films under a given director name. I imagine a system where the master user invites other users to join the director group, and once they accept the invitation they may perform film related actions using it. Only the master user of the group could add/remove people from the director name. |

New idea for a feature: On each film page, recommendations would be listed. “If you liked this film, you may enjoy…” Also planning to do some sort of statistics viewer where the owner of the film can see how many hits their film has gotten this week, month, etc. – Done |

Would like to code the ability to transfer director’s films from one username to another. It would prevent a lot of people from needing to ask if they can have the userID of the film reassigned. |

I know, I’ve been adding a lot of things here lately. It’ll give me something to do if I’m ever bored, though. I’d like to convert the site to CSS and XHTML standards. Not only will it make page loading quicker, but it will be more browser friendly and efficient. It would make everything much easier to work with as well (separation of content from design). It may take a while, maybe not. I guess time will tell, though I’m not sure when I’ll get around to trying this. I’ve already dabbled in CSS some. You can see my redesigned site running on it here. I love it, and think that as this site grows, it needs to better conform to standards as a way of being easier to work with for us and better for the visitors. |

At some point, we should rewrite the directory search engine using a combination of Stefan’s most recent iteration (splitting the search phrase into an array and querying using each individual word) and MySQL’s full-text search function (link). Not only would it allow us to do full and partial word searches, but some wonderful little tools are built into it. For example, you could add -bob to remove all search results with the word bob, put quotes around a phrase to find the exact phrase a la Google, etc. You can also sort results by relevance. |
