Was that the reason for your small-print?

I think that this is a pretty unreasonable hope that a few people seem to hold. Because, let’s face it, we have a pretty good community. Whoever the people end up electing, I don’t see all that much drastically changing in the forums, as Rev’s policies and the current mods have kept everything quite civil for the last few years. My only interest in the position is because I’ve noticed for a long time now that some people get confused as to the actual rules of the site, and think that could be improved. I don’t believe there is any solution to stopping spammers from entering the community or keep people from letting a cuss out, other than vigilant mods and an active community.

Anyway, I like Rev’s list. And given RP Hoogle’s unfortunate choice of allegiance (note: I don’t mean the LotR party), Lechnology gets my vote by default.

Yeah…. between CG and Graff… I dunno I like Graff more, he has the meat that CG is lacking in the spunk department.

Do what’s spunky.

I am confused, then. Do you expect the winning candidate to be able to control other people’s actions? How else would he be able to stop this, aside from censoring it after it happens (which we already do), and making it known that it’s not acceptable (which is already done)?

In the interests of fairness, I should point out that TPOTWTON has nominated Legobros for Minister of Film Contests. This seems to have been overlooked on the news page, as has the hotlink to my electoral speech.

As for IceMan, I’m not sure what film you are thinking of. I have only ever made a test film. I did help rstudios ith the scripts for a few of his films, most notably Cold Comfort, but that is all.

Fair enough, and this is true. I would also like to suggest, however, that the cursing problem is not nearly as serious as it has been made out to be. I believe that our current system is doing a more than adequate job of enforcement. For example, when a search is done of various curse words, excluding hell and damn, 90 occurrences show up. That might be surprising, but it turns out that all 90 of those results either were not actually curses based on the context, or, as in the vast majority of the cases, came from the lively discussion forum, an area that mods can’t edit. It’s also an area that is meant to be for older members of the community, and which is sectioned off from the public.

Granted, there are many more occurrences of hell and damn, but these may have been used in a biblical sense, and further, it has been my impression (whether correct or not) that they are generally not edited out of posts.

It is good to consider solutions to the problem, but we should also be open to the idea that there may not be much of a problem to begin with.

Oops. I must have thought I saw a comma after ‘Besides’. In fact, looking at IceMan’s post, his punctuation is perfect. Sorry.
