Okay, I just went through every forum and deleted every spam topic. Unfortunately, the bots post two more topics while I’m deleting them, and so on…
The forum should be a little cleaner for now, but I predict its going to get a lot worse. I’m going to go to sleep now, and we’ll have several modless hours, I believe. In addition, I won’t be able to get back online for at least 17 more hours.
I hope not too much damage is done.
And again:
Admins, has a solution been found? Have you even tried banning them? The mods are OVERLOADED with spam right now, we can’t just keep deleting it. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE.
EDIT: About nine minutes ago, I deleted all the spam from this forum. There have been ten new topics created since then. This will get very, very bad. In fact, I would suggest a five minute post-timer. It sounds like a lot, but it will really cut down on the spam and help us mods out A LOT.

although i am still a noob i know the difference
between spam and not spam, and i could b added just for the purpose of deleting spam  you don’t have to add me
i’m just sick of all the spam like pretty much everyone else
and a five min limit does sound like a lot but if it is
necessary then i’m sure ppl will be able to cope

I’ll be on in about 12 hours, and ther’ll be a bunch of spam by then. I think 2 is good, 3 at the most, after that, it’s just annoying. I do have a limited time of about 45 minutes in the morning, and I can make a few posts in that time.

If you could make a five minute new topic timer that would hardly be noticed by anyone except the spammers.

Or you could just let site fill up with spam then leave it, the sites worth just about nothing these days anyways.
It deserves SPAM in my opinion.

We do have a new mod on the team, he’s obviously been doing his job.
The spam hasn’t stopped, I had to delete some this morning.
EDIT: Oh, I also got a reply from Ahnt this morning. He’s been busy teaching and stuff and couldn’t actually log in sometimes and had no idea this was going on.

I know this is late, but all signs seem to indicate that this is a bot, not a person. Banning may do the trick if as you said it all comes from one IP, but it’s possible once banned it will use a proxy (in my opinion not likely, but hey, what do I know about spambots?)
Has the level dropped, or has it stopped completely?

I haven’t seen any since yesterday night, so unless other mods have been getting to it before me, I believe it has stopped.
