I don’t know if this has already been suggested, or if you already plan to use it, but here’s a suggestion for spoilers. It’s an idea based on a forum I frequently visit.
Everyone likes to talk about Brickfilms, and people may want to talk about films that others may not have seen. Likewise directors may want to post information about a film in progress which may be of interest to some, but spoil it for others.
I’ve notice that the practice in these forums is to post some sort of warning like ‘*** SPOILERS ***’, then proceed to write in white ink (or not) until the end of the spoiler.
What about setting up some spoiler tags which automatically black out the text between the start and end tags? The tags automatically format the text into black ink on a black background, so that the text in between the two start and end tags have to be highlighted in order to be read.
Eg, the poster would write in their post –
Rouge Squadron is really funny
, and when posted it’s just a black box until you highlight the text within.
Apologies if already suggested or being implemented, but I sure it would go down well with the other forum users.

Rev, you told me you were gonna add the hack but i did the liberty of doing it for you.. clicky here – all the edited files are in there; just upload them to their respected directories which are displayed in the zip when you unzip it.. the posting.php goes in the root directory, aka the phpBB2 one here..
just wanted to save you some time :-/
To test this hack at a forum, you may go to http://hockey07.x-world.nl/boards/, enter the test forum, and make a post (w/o registering) and you can test it.. the announcement post just says like how to use the hack ect
edit: theres an updated link for files that now are completely compatable with the chat hack 😀July 17, 2003 at 2:20 pm #8748
Thanks, Banjo, now that is one useful mod!
If RevMen told you he would install it, just be patient: he will. He’s got more to do, though, than play around with these forums all day.

Ya but he thanked me 🙂 lol.. See, he’s in collage, and blah blah, and has alot to do other than installing hacks. So i saved him some time and did it all for him lol..
heh, i can tell which post was yours in the test board i made (which i admit, was most likely useful for people who havent ever seen it before lol).. heh, you ended it with “Stefan” like always 😛 😆July 17, 2003 at 4:46 pm #8769

That would be very clever indeed, if I had intended to hide my identity in the first place. I had never seen the tag at work, and was curious about how it would deal with large amounts of text. I’m not too charmed with it: it looks awful. But it is useful nonetheless.

Yes it looks awful in the way when you like have multiple lines and not all the lines are filled up lol.. But its not my hack, so :-/July 17, 2003 at 7:34 pm #8827

how would i have known you’d made a mistake if i didn’t know what you meant to say?July 17, 2003 at 7:37 pm #8828
Banjo… could you do me a favour? Go to line 90 of the file 402.txt (I think that was it), change the two occurrences of #000000 to #FFFFFF and re-install the hack.
Should look a lot nicer, at least for this skin. If the thing had been really smart, people would have been able to change that colour to adjust to different themes. But that doesn’t seem to be the case 🙁
