I’m a little bit confused, I didn’t get a formailer or a list of all entries. I’m probably just being stupid right now, if so please point me to the list. |

I’m trying to put together my vote-list now, and I’m having trouble. There are a lot of films that are smooth but where the bricks only slide, whereas there are other films that aren’t quite as smooth, but the animation is more difficult . . . as in, the bricks aren’t just sliding half a dot or so every frame. The voting is based soley on animation. But I don’t want to put the films with smooth sliding bricks over the films with not-quite-as smooth “more interesting” bricks. Did anyone else run into this problem? I’m not asking for help. I’ve pretty much finished my list, I’m just pointing out the major difficulty I’m having in making the list, and wondering if anyone else ran into it. LGM |

Yeah, I’ve ran into that. I’m judging on the impressiveness of the animation. I’m taking into consideration camera movements, timing, creativity, fluidity, appropriateness, etc. etc. etc. |

Very difficult… I ended up dropping them all in a spreadsheet and then ranked them 1st pass, 2nd pass and then 3rd, sorted the columns and then did a final ranking. Should be interesting how it turns out. With some controversy I’m sure. -Stephen |

Exactly, I started looking less for smoothness in some of the films, and more for the “natural” movement and live-action feel that is being attempted. LGM |

I just made a spread sheet, then put all of the names of the entrants on the far left. Then I watched all of the movies (in the same order as they were on the spread sheet), and put a number (1-10, 10 being the best) by their name to help me remember how good their animation was. Then, I put them in order by rating, and watched them again, working my way down the list starting at the 10s and ending at the 1s, sorting them into their proper positions. That was my final ranking. Now, I have a question. On our ballots, do we put down the film’s name, the director’s name, both, or whtever you want? |
