With so many animators wanting to be a part of the Super project and only so few can be part of it in order to keep the film from being a 3 hour montage of characters discovery, utilizing and fighting bad guys with special powers, a lot of animators’ scene will be reduced or cut out of the film.

Not a good thing, in my opinion. Therefore, I thought of this: Star Wars has it’s Expanded Universe, Battlestar Galactica (re-imagined) has its online series that lead into the next season, and Heroes has its online comics.

So why not have something similar with Super. The idea here is to allow any animators that are part of Super to create their own animation and storyline in the Super universe, especially those whose scenes are being cut. Whether or not it involves the events of Super is up to you. Of course they cannot be released before the Super film itself is finished, but perhaps in the same month of its release.

Here’s how I see it:

A week or two before Super is to be released, a series of short clips introduces characters in the film, both minor and major. What’s in these clips is up to the animator, as long as it does not reveal spoilers.

Originally, an idea was introduced in the private forum of character-specified trailers.

Your thoughts please.

Cool idea, Lech. If we make short clips introducing characters, we should think of some original or somewhat original names.

Well… if a person enters this project, but did not try to enter the original Super project, would they still qualify? I like the idea, but how close to the original do you want it? And is the copyright rule in effect here too? I know this is a new topic, so I am not trying to bug you  .

Not that I might enter…

That’s a pretty good idea,
with all those people in on Super, it’s would be huge
if it wasn’t in two or more parts

I was actually thinking of something similar about a week ago. I think this a great plan Lech.

Great idea, Lech. But I can’t figure out what exactly it is. Is it a trailer for our character, or a “deleted scenes” type of thing?

-MMM, who will make a point of participating in this.

You absolutely NEED to be a part of Super?

The only rules I can think of for this universe project is no duplicate powers, no spoilers, and it has to be based on the Super universe we’re developing.

To give you an idea of the Super Universe, it’s basically in the near future. Same Earth, some advancement in technology, not much has changed.

Deleted scene is one perspective. I’m going more towards promotion clips.

I guess you can consider this project as a promotional project.

You don’t have to be part of Super, you can make your own clip, as long as it follows the rules and guidelines yet to be finalized. If it doesn’t follow those guidelines and rules, then it couldn’t be considered “canon“.

I absolutely LOVE this idea. Could I use my sound manipulation character that I mentioned? And… what font is the “SUPER” logo in? I love it.

BankGothic

Yes, you can use your sound manipulation power. A lot of details and rules for this Universe I’ll need to hammer out.

It’s BankGothic Md Bt, actually. Different than just BankGothic, I believe. Also keep in mind that I adjusted the spacing between letters, so just typing out “SUPER” in the right font won’t look right with default spacing.

Anyway, I like your idea, Lech. I was somewhat worried for a while that many of the minor characters introduced in the discovery scene wouldn’t fit with the rest of the film. This is a great way to allow them to still participate if they’re cut.

Cool idea…
We probably won’t do any more super stuff besides the real thing, but it will still be cool to see it.
Oh and if I get bored of our Kensington sig, can I use the super one too since 3 people already are?

You can always make a sig for your character, like I did. And a character avatar, too.

Yes but there should be little control over what the animators do.
