I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks, RevMen. By the way, you’re the guy behind Great Microbiologists, right? That one was a NIGHTMARE to translate. Long as hell and dialogue ALL THE TIME. |

Not to mention much of the dialogue is in Dutch and French. |

Yes. I speak french but you had the english translation already in there so that part was easy. Now I know a lot about Louis Pasteur. |

I realize now that I have forgotten to notify some of the filmmakers that I want to screen their films. If you are one of these filmmakers and DO NOT wish to have your film screened – I am sorry. I am handling 90% of the work on this festival myself however, so I’ve probably forgotten about it in all the excitement. I’m stressed out so much it’s crazy. Sorry about that. Again, if you don’t want your film on the bill, I will remove it at once. If you DO – well, then all’s fine. 8) |

About the DVD’s… Earlier on, people expressed interest in displaying/selling some DVD’s in the festival lobby. Not to make a living off, just to show ‘em off and maybe sell one or two to someone from the audience. Well, those of you who ARE interested in this, please PM me immediately. You will need to send them ASAP if they’re to arrive in time. I can help pay the postage if you want as I have gotten a few bucks as a grant to cover costs like that. PM me. Thanks. |

Posters and flyers are done now – check ‘em out if you want: They will be printed as A3 size, in colour. As you can see, I was inspired by the old Uncle Sam “I want you for U.S. Army”-posters. |

Oh boy, things are happening now. I’m really psyched about the festival on saturday but at the same time stressed out like hell. Mediawise, things are looking great. I will be on local tv tonight talking about the festival and showing some stop-mo moves. The day before yesterday, the festival was mentioned in the premiere, nationwide film program on TV. Hopefully, that will attract some out-of-town visitors. Tomorrow morning I’ll be on a nationwide morning radio show talking about the same stuff and friday morning it’s the local tv morning show where I will talk, show some lego and screen a few minutes of “Special Deliverance” and my festival trailer. Thanks to Leftfield for letting me show a snippet of S.D! I’ve put up posters and flyers all over the place and there’s a couple of blogs and newspapers writing about it. Marketing-wise, I can’t do any better. I’m really shocked by the great interest people (or at least the media) seems to take in this. The list of films is strong, too. Just finished dumping everything onto dv tapes. Every segment will be on a separate tape and I’m keeping a backup copy on DVD just for safety. We’ll inspect the theater friday morning and test everything so that nothing fails on saturday afternoon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the DVD’s will arrive in time, too. If you enter the festival website, there will be a media section up shortly where you can read, listen and watch to everything that’s been said about the festival. There ya go! An update. For those of you (i.e. everyone) who can’t attend, there will be hundreds of photos up on the website once it’s over. More updates on that later. Thanks. |

Nope, saw your message. But that’s okay, we’ll make a list for people to sign up like I said in the PM. That’ll work. |

If it’s not too much, I have a request. Could someone take a picture of the show while Rick & Tom is on the screen? I’m sure my mom would really appreciate it . . . |

It’s all over now. Wow, what can I say… it was a success. We had a great turnout and people dropped in a whole hour before showtime. The films were great, the subtitling worked fine, the cakes were tasty and the audience were really digging it. A lot of films got spontaneous applause. We had a voting where people could vote for the best film out of the films in blocks 1 and 2. We also picked a winner from the audience. A dude named Robin won a big box of brand new lego. The award for best film had four movies who all came very close to winning. I think the final winner only had one or two more vote than the runner up. The winner was Special Deliverance – big congratulations to Leftfield! There will be tons of video and photos up on the website shortly. Right now I need to sleep though. This festival’s been a shitload of work and I’m drained right now. Completely drained. But happy. 8) |
