There are 3 different groups judging THAC, check to see which group you fit in. You may only submit ONE ballot, so if you submit an entrants ballot you cannot submit an audience ballot as well. The winners will be announced in an awards chat, the date of which will be announce soon. All ballots must be in by Friday, September 23rd. Judges - This group was handpicked by me, they are responsible for the awarding of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, as listed on THAC website. Entrants - Anyone who entered a film in THAC and was not disqualified can submit a ballot. The winner of this will receive the Entrants Choice Award, as listed on the THAC website. To be eligible for this award, you MUST submit a ballot. Any entrants who win a prize but fail to submit a ballot will have their prize handed down to the next highest scorer. If your name is on the list at the end of the page, you are allowed to submit a ballot for this award. Audience - This group is open to ANYONE who wants to submit a ballot. It does not matter if you are a patron, I only ask that you view ALL the films before voting. This group will be awarding the Audience choice award, as listed on the THAC website. All of the qualifying THAC entries will be ranked in 4 separate categories, Animation, Cinematography, Sound Design, and Story. All are evenly weighted. A films total score will be calculated by adding together its scores in all 4 categories. Below are some guidelines you can use when ranking your films. -Animation: 25% -Cinematography: 25% -Sound Design: 25% -Story: 25% Your ballots MUST be emailed to david@brickfilms.com, be sure to state your name and/or brickfilms username in the message, and use whichever of the following titles is most approriate:
There are 22 qualifying films, but your ballot should only contain 10 in each category. Each position will be given a number of points. The best film should be ranked as 10, and it will receive 10 points. Next best as 9, and it will receive 9 points, etc. The tenth best film in each category should be ranked one, and it will only receive one point. All films not on the ballot will not receive a point at all. You cannot vote for your own film. This is an example of what your ballot should look like:
Theses are the entries that can be included on your ballot, all the disqualified entries have been removed. Any film not on this list has been disqualified and should not be included on your ballot. 17 UPDATE: The awards chat will be held on October 3rd at 4:30 PM Pacific Standard Time. Check this chart to figure out what time that is for you. |

Does that mean we should rank our own film as well? I don’t like that. Stefan. |

22! :twitch: Thats going to take forever! Why can’t we just do the top 10? Oh well, I got a lot of re-watching to do EDIT: Do me and fractalman both submit entries? Or does mine count as a “animator’s choice” and his count as “audiance choice”? |

David West really is too stict with this. one frame where its not there JESUS.Also the 22 films will not produce a fair vote because its too many to remember everything. I think this is the last contest that DW should run because this contest really wasn’t run too well. I mean how could someone cheat like that. |

I have a passing interested in voting methods, and I thought this might be of interest to some. It appears the voting method used here is the “Borda” method as defined at condorcet.org. The linked website is promoting the Condorcet winner and specifically the Ranked Pairs method. (condorcet.org’s list of voting methods). I’m not sure how the multiple categories of voting fits in however… Any math people have some insight? Of course, the dynamics of a brickfilm vote are much different from a political vote; I’m not expressing an opinion on the voting method used in this contest. It would be interesting howerver, to see if different tabulation methods come up with different winners. Some software to do just that is listed at vote.sf.net |

There are over 10 disqualified entries, and there are 20 entries that did not get disqualified. I think Proto’s should be fine.. I know proto would never cheat, anyways. |

Proto is a cheater. Seriously, I encourage David to stand by the decisions he has already made. Making wishy-washy changes halfway through is never really a good idea. |
