I didn’t really expect any votes in the first place. My film didn’t turn out at all how I had planned. Oh well… maybe next year. Congrats to all the winners!

Woohoo 0 votes! I don’t care at all anyway, I know people made much better ones. Night at the pier was great, what an awesome set. Good job everyone.
EDIT: Wait, we could have voted? Oh…

What is the prize exactly, or is it the brickfilms DVD?

    Man, my film did terrible…

I don’t mind much. It didn’t turn out like I hoped it too, and I expected it to do terrible. I was disappointed at first, but I understand :)

But I don’t think anybody should get 0 points. That could really lower someone’s self asteem, and they may quit brickfilming. Its not doing that to me, it just makes me want to try harder, but someone could feel that way.

Anyway, congradulations to the winners! :)

If your film got a zero or another very low rating, keep in mind that with the way the system works, if entrants did not feel that your film was in the top five technically or in the quality of the story, it didn’t receive points; this doesn’t mean people didn’t like your film. It’s unfortunate that the scoring system works out the way it does, (such that there will inevitably be a lot of people who don’t receive any points) but I think Revmen’s suggestion is a good one, though it would draw out the process somewhat.

I agree, there should be nominations.

Some pretty good ideas to consider.

Say, if more people are in favor of doing this more often, how would a winter THAC sound? Maybe one over Christmas Break? I wouldn’t mind running a few more before I have to pass the baton on to someone else when I join the Army next summer. If we do do more, though, prize sponsorship would be really cool. My wallet isn’t exactly bursting at the seams.

I think a THAC the first Saturday after Christmas would be excellent. Almost all students should be on winter break and lots of people will have animation-related Christmas gifts they’ll be wanting to use.

I echo what David West and RevMen said. This type of contest is too awesome to just be annual. What about three a year? One during Spring Break, one at the end of summer (original date) and one during Christmas break?
