It is not comet that brought you here, but a love for puppies and freedom.
That, and the fact that we have a real strategy to make this place better, as well as a solid membership that keeps growing every day.December 15, 2006 at 3:35 am #244706

Fine, I’ll join your fascist in disguise party.December 15, 2006 at 4:18 am #244716
You’re assumption of our party is way off base, but we allow freedom of expression. Just be careful that you don’t venture into the territory of spreading hate messages.December 15, 2006 at 4:21 am #244717
I hate hate messages.December 15, 2006 at 7:25 am #244730
That was exactly what I wanted to hear, comet.

Given the recent formation of the “What Would RevMen Do? Party,” we feel it is necessary to further state our position on the big issues surrounding this election. The Puppy Sponsored Freedom and Liberty Party believes in finding a balance between decisive action and careful discussion among members of the community. We do not believe in one set path for the betterment of the community, but rather a path that is chosen collectively, by the majority, with the true intention of making things around here better. We do expect many of our actions to coincide with RevMen’s ideals, but we do not believe in strictly following one course of action, and we do have small but important changes in mind.
What will our changes be? That depends on what our members want, but they will certainly not be inane or irresponsible. We seek to enact only changes that will provide real benefits for all – benefits that we have not had for some time.
For example, for my part, I wish to return the forums to a pristine state of film discussion, sharing, and fun. Part of this process would include a long-needed update to our forum rules. This update will seek, not to create additional restrictions that would turn this community into a police state, but to ensure that the forums will be run smoothly and that the moderators will act in a consistent and fair method.
RevMen has done a wonderful job and has brought this community to a new level over these years, but that does not mean we cannot do more to push ourselves to greater achievement. We must use this opportunity for more than just a management change, and instead bring fresh new ideas and features that we can all enjoy. Currently, some of our members are discussing possible upgrades to the front page, and perhaps a way to merge the Resources section and the Brickfilms Encyclopedia to create a simpler and more efficient way for newcomers to find information. These proposals are still in the preliminary stages and require further discussion, but are good examples of what we wish to accomplish.
Finally, there is one last thing I wish to address. Some may look at our party name and write us off as not taking any of this seriously. But I for one feel that it is important we all maintain a light-hearted view in this process. Hopefully this post will show how serious we are about progress, while our name ensures that people understand we are still committed to keeping this community as fun and open as it has always been.
Now that that has been cleared up, it is vital that those of you currently in TPSFLP begin voicing your nominations. Be it by chat, PM, e-mail, or this thread, it is important that those interested in a position open for voting share it with the rest of us.
