So, it looks like the Festival of Souls will be the first competition on the new Brickfilms.com website. But before we go ahead and start the competition, it’s time for some discussion. I’ve placed a poll above where you can vote on things, but remember to comment on them below also so we can make this an even better contest.

For example, would it be better to have more awards for different things, i.e Most Scary, Best Interpretation of Theme, etc. and have smaller but more spaced out prizes? Discuss

I think you should do that. My suggestions would be Best Film (of course), Best Suspense Buildup, and that Best Interpretation of Theme.

I agree with you :)

I think September 10th would be a better date.

October 1st (I know its not an option) imo. I would love to organize something for Septemberfest even if its not a contest per se but a film festival instead where we appreciate the holiday and make some fun Septemberfest themed films.

Why is this on Brickfilms.com and not BiM?

Because Onion decided to host FoS 2011 on both.

Is this even still on? Last I heard was that Onion declared the contest was off in chat, as he was tired of people questioning him on it.

Yes it is. Check this out. So it’s going to be on the 25th?

Yup! Still on! And I guess the contest will start on 25th but I’m not really happy about it. I just would suggest start a bit earlier but whatever. Can’t wait!

I think there should be more community on brickfilms. It just doesn’t really seem as active as what I was hoping.
I was thinking perhaps having some annual brickfilm competitions, winners getting bragging rights as the best brickfilm in that category until the next winner is announced. Also, the winners film could be listed on your bickfilms youtube account until the competition is won by another person.
Also, perhaps there could be officially run collaborations, and other community events, not necessarily the kind that fans need to travel to, but online events.
