A spectre is haunting brickfilms – the spectre of revolution. Swearing is uncensored. The directory’s standards are low. A constant, aching reminder to “look at the FAQ” can be heard echoing animatedly through the hills, with not a soul putting it into use. What once was a respectable forum for discussing American politics and evolution has degraded to ad hominem attacks and Britain’s inventage of everything. Where have we gone wrong, my friends? The history of all hitherto existing forums is the history of member rankings. Patron and visitor, Admin and Mod, long-time member and person who only posts in the “What was the last movie you watched” thread, stood in constant opposition to one another. Threats of leaving have long been mocked by the bourgeois, but now we have the power to fight back. Join with the Revolution Party and you will see all men, filming together, giving Lego out of his excess, and receiving Lego from his shortage. No longer will swearing be allowed in the forums; the leaders will ban all who try that. Not a single cruddy film will be accepted into our beloved and once great directory! Let the moderators tremble at this revolution. We non-patrons have nothing to lose but our chains. We have a website to win. Filming men of all countries, unite! |

So, are you a communist party? ‘Cause history has sort of proven that communism doesn’t work. – See the FAQ for more information. |

Filming men of all countries should unite so that we can discuss american politics? |

Discuss brickfilm politics, obviously. We need to reform the whole system, and that can only happen by people joining this party and getting elected into leadership. Ultimately, I see a day when Brickfilms will run itself. |

I object to communism in practice, and thus will not be joining this party. |

How can a site run itself? Who would you see maintaining the site, being the administrator? Everyone? Expecting the site to run itself would be leaving it to die. |

Actually, I can imagine the site running itself. With an established election system and, possibly, a legislative body, all decisions about finances and maintenance would be made by elected or appointed officers. It would take a while to reach that point, but I think it’s possible. That’d be really cool, too. |

Yes. Also extremely inefficient and bloated, as all groups that run that way are. |

RevMen, I am glad to see you think Brickfilms running itself is feasible. That is the #2 concern of the Revolution Party. Concern #1 involves beheading those currently in charge. |

I’m just curious, where do you see the site hosted if it is indeed ‘running itself’? I’m afraid to say that sites aren’t just animals that you can release into the internet. |

On a server rented by the company Brickfilms LLC. Just like it is now. It may or may not be practical, but it’s possible. |

Ah, I understand now. So all of the administrative functions would be either automated or divided among members? It would take more effort than it would be worth, I think. |

I support the revolution! The moderation (except for Revmen) seems to be… not good. |

I must disagree with you R&R, its so good you don’t realize how good it is. You’d notice big changes if we had no mods. |
