Dear brothers and sisters of Brickfilms, I come before you today as nothing more than a humble compatriot of this glorious Community. I founded the Party of Númenor with a vision of a regime that would positively impact our site. We have not gone to the length of conjuring up a ‘worldview’ for our Party, for we see it as an unnecessary charade which distracts from the true Goal of our blessed Party. We beckon to all who wish to join us; newbies and site veterans alike. Our mission is simple and need not be detailed in a five paragraph outline. We stand for the improvement of our already great community; the growth of the Wiki, an increase in news updates, and an up-to-date and easy-to-use resource section. We need no sponsorship from juvenile canines, because we are a forward, straight-shooting party desires to avoid such distractions. I have been around this community since the days of Brickfilms founder Jason Rowoldt. I am a member of Lugnet and I follow LDraw and other LEGO community websites as well. Because of this, I believe I am fully qualified for the position of Minister of Information. Brickfilms Comrade Dragoon has done a wonderful job of selecting the Featured Film for the main page, and if I am elected I allow him to continue in this vital duty. I will post carefully thought out, interesting, and relevant news on the news page. I will also seek ideas and recommendations from others in the community, of course, in order to make the news page the best that it can be. For too long has the news page trumpeted the results of contests, and the release of the latest Podcasts, but little else. Let us look forward, comrades, to the great day when the news page will be informative and interesting once again. I seek to put the inform back in information. -Smeagol, candidate for Minister of Information. |

I find it interesting that you classify your party as a “regime”. Nevertheless, I think it’s important that you list all of the people that you intend to use as assistants (assuming that you plan to have people other than dragoon work with you), so that we can get an idea of what exactly things would be like.
For a forward, straight-shooting party, you sure use convoluted methods to get your points across. |

Regime (form dictionary .com): Whats wrong with a regime, Watson? |

I got a bit overzealous on the word choice, my apologies. We’re definitely going for definitions 2 and 3 there. As for the question about assistants, I had not necessarily planned on any specific, designated assistants. I propose a system in which I will do my best to come up with articles, but anyone is welcome to suggest news. -Smeagol |

Of course I recognize the definition of regime, Legoman, but the word almost always carries with it a negative connotation. Ruling parties are often referred to as regime’s when they persecute or oppress their people. |

Well, rest assured, if I find any way to persecute and oppress through news updates, I’ll try to steer clear of it. -Smeagol |

Might I suggest you all hold off on forming your final opinion until all the nominees are presented? What if RevMen decided he wanted to run for this job tomorrow? Give everyone a chance to make their case. And really, Mr. Less brings up a valid point. Cometgreen |

What can I say? Gaining people’s unswerving loyalty comes naturally to me. -Smeagol |
