On Friday the 29th of December and Saturday the 30th of December, Brickfilms will hold its first public elections for positions of responsibility. The two positions that will be voted on are:

Minister of Information – In charge of bringing news to the front page. It is this minister’s responsibility to scan regular news sources and pay attention to community goings-on and to write articles on the front page. The Minister of Information may also appoint deputies to help with his duties. Choosing the current featured film will also fall under the Minister of Information’s responsibilities.

Minister of Filming Resources – Responsible for the brickfilms Resources page. This Minister should have decent HTML skills and significant knowledge of brickfilming.

Both of these offices will go into effect January 1st, 2007 and will be in effect until July 1st, 2007.

As this democracy concept is experimental, I reserve the right to render all election results null and void.

Both of these have no real favorites so this will be interesting.

For the Resource page, I think we need someone who uses both a Mac and a PC.

Agreed Night, unless they appoint an aide that has the other operating system to fill the gap.

I have a Mac and a PC, plus I’m pretty good at HTML, plus I know quite a lot about brickfilming. My only problem is modivation.

I agree with nightowl also.

I would suggest that anyone who wants to run for these positions creates a new topic in this new forum, so we know who they are and what they would do, etc.

Campaigning, if you will.

This would probably be best resolved with the person having two advisors/assistants who use the other two OS’s.

Pfft!
Sorry, I think access to Mac and PC would be fine. Isn’t Linux very similar to windows?

I would say 2 advisors, 3 people for 1 job? I think maybe some one to read through it before it is posted, like a deputy minister but I suppose Revmen would be able to go through it and change it if something was very bad.

NightOwl has a good point. Like others have said.

But, how can we tell if someone has the knowledge of Mac and PC, and we’d like to vote for that person?

I hope you all realize you are walking into a trap. Who here uses a PC, Mac, and Linux?

Pierre Films!

I don’t see why the actual Minister must be an active user of both OS. As said, s/he can have an aid/adviser that would balance out the equation. If the Minister knows a bunch of PC programs, a highly knowledgeable Mac person can help out. That, or the Minister can use google.

Hmmm. I could do that.
