Welcome to the maggosh for Minister of Film Contests thread. Here you will find my campaign running for this position, and I will accept any questions regarding my campaign, and will answer them to the best of my ability. What I would like to do if elected: (or “What are my ideas to expand or improve the Ministry?”)
My motivation for running for is Ministry: Now, before any one says it, let me get this out of the way – I know I may be the last person you would want to elect for any ministry, that I might go mad with power the minute I am elected. But I just want to make it clear: It is not about the power granted with this ministry; it is the responsibility that comes with it. And becoming a minister of anything is not a right; it is a privelege. If I am irresponsible as a minister, I can lose that privelege. The experience I have for this Ministry, and other ideas on improving this Ministry: I have been here [at this site] for one year. As I see that most of my first posts had been useless, or otherwise “spam”. As I have, in my own way, matured over the last year, I would like to give back to the community. As I have read over several threads in the Official Contests and have seen such properly formatted threads, I believe I could start a thread properly if elected and after a contest conceived by the aforementioned “Contest Panel”. To conclude, I would like to say that it is a privelege to have made it so far as becoming a full-pledged candidate. If I’m elected, I would feel even more honoured. I welcome your suggestions. -maggosh Please note that I am dropping my candidancy for Minister of Truth. Please vote for the other candidates. |

As Minister, how would you handle the IDEA prizes? Richardfrost has yet to select a third prize, and our current minister has been MIA for some time now. If you were elected, what would you do to rectify this? -MindGame |

I agree that you have matured a bit in the time you have been here. |

I am sure Watson has not been online since mid-October of this year. If elected, I will converse with richardfrost about a third prize; I have an idea for a $100 voucher from bricklink. If I’m correct, the placing order was Smeagol, Nick Durron and MindGame. I will ask the top three, respectively, which prizes are preferred. I am open to any suggestions to this solution. |

Question: Can you outline how you will be obtaining prizes for contests? No-prize contests are always fun and all, but have a certain something lacking. That something is usually the payoff of some sort of prize. Although it is up to the MoFC to obtain prizes for contests, that does not automatically mean that the MoFC has to pay out of their own pocket. |

Well, seeing as I’m not the richest member on the site, I would consult with richardfrost or any other member willing to pay for the aforementioned prizes. The prizes, under oath, will be sent here [my house] and sent again to the winners respectively. If there is a prize that can be purchased from the merch page, (for example, a brickfilms DVD or Stop Motion Pro) I will consult with RevMen to see if the prize can be sent to the winner, after I have paid him for the order. And if there are some I can buy, so be it. Just to summarize, some prizes I can pay for, others will be out of my reach. |

You have matured quite a bit. I’ve noticed that several popular unofficial contests (such as BHC or QFC) have sometimes suffered from not being seen enough. If you were to be elected, would you help gain these promising, yet lacking in entrants, contests get more attention? By stickying them, maybe? Or even trying to get them on the News page? |

Firstly, looking at the Unofficial Contests forum now, I see four stickied contest threads, three of which are contests that have now since been completed. Undoubtedly, if elected, I would unsticky and lock those threads. Secondly, if there are any promising contests I see in the Unofficial Contests forum, I will sticky them for all possible entrants to see. Thirdly, I do not think that an unofficial contest could be advertised on the News page. Correct me if I am wrong. |

Hopefully you’re sincere with this, because you’re definitely correct and I’d hate for this to be an election promise. This definitely shows reflects some growth and maturity, I’m impressed with your platform. Good luck! |

Why would you only talk with [senior] members regarding new contests? Can I expect you to look through/be closely involved in the unofficial contests to insure their growth and stability? Also is it alright to adopt a unofficial contest and make it official (or endorse it… with the consent of the creator)? I agree w/ trill. You’ve come a long way. |

True. I would be open minded to members who have created an unofficial contest or contests which have been successful in the past. Plus, a senior member could have been here for a year or two and be completely immature. Good point.
Yes. I spend most of my time in the Unofficial Contests forum, checking the progress of the contests in motion. One contests I am particularily interested in is The Quest for “___” contest by Steviecolli. It seems very prosperous and I might consider entering it.
If the contest seems good enough (e.g., prizes everyone wuld be interested in), I might consider it. |
