BertL	What is my motivation for running for Minister of Truth? I really like the Brickfilms community. It’s diverse, and it feels like a home of sorts. Active as I am in this community, I have never done anything to become an “official” Brickfilms staff member. I feel it’s time to change that. I dedicate a lot of time to this place, and I’ve become such a regular person here that I feel it’s time to give something back. More, even, than just the IBDB and the archiving project (and the brickfilms ). How much time would I be able to spend performing my duties as Minister of Truth? As most of you probably know, I’m a quite active member in the community (apart from being the #1 poster, I am also archiving the Brickfilms Directory, and administrating the IBDB). I spend a lot of time in it (at least an hour a day, usually more). When I’m Minister of Truth, I will dedicate a lot of that time to the Brickfilms Encyclopedia. What experience do I have relating to my desired ministry? I am currently the administrator of the Internet Brickfilms Database. This is a database very similar to the Brickfilms Encyclopedia. As a result of that, I know a lot of things on using these WIKI-thingies and am quite experienced with the formatting/interface. What are my ideas to expand or improve the Ministry? Encyclopedia reliability When I’m Minister of Truth, I will personally see that the information in the Brickfilms Encyclopedia is as up to date and reliable as possible. Pages on software, tutorials, contests etcetera will be regularly checked to make sure there are no dead links, false statements etcetera. I shall also spend a lot of time extending articles and making articles for new software. Of course, editing isn’t just my job; one of the main features of the Brickfilms Encyclopedia that makes it stand out above the Resources and FAQ is that anyone can edit information. As a result, I will personally monitor edits in order to make sure they are “good edits”. Anti-vandalism matters There is a lot of SPAM on the Brickfilms Encyclopedia. It degrades the Encyclopedia standards. I will change the procedure for registering. Simply registering through the Encyclopedia will be disabled; instead, the person who wants to register needs to send me a PM in which the user will have to give his/her password of choice, and his/her e-mail address, so I can register that person. That way I can monitor all registering, and SPAM bots will not be able to register without me knowing it. This way, instead of deleting SPAM (which is the current system), all SPAM will be prevented. This tactic has proven to be working in the IBDB, which also suffered from vandalism and SPAM until I changed it into this. This does not mean I am preventing people from being able to edit. Editing anonymously will stay, as long as no vandalism will come from it. Should vandalism find its way through non-registeredness, I will disable anonymous editing, so that before anyone new can edit a page he has to go through my “screening” first. Schlaeps	What type of integration would you like to see with the other resources available on Brickfilms, if any? Editing anonymously will stay, as long as no vandalism will come from it. Unless I’m mistaken, anonymous editing is currently disabled.

Josh Parris	Whilst I was nominated for Minister for Truth, I chose to decline the nomination because I think BertL will make the best Minister of Truth; with him in the driver’s seat I’m happy to be a lackey. BertL has consistently worked to expand the Encyclopaedia as a mechanism for handling newbie FAQs and to provide a handy place for comparing hardware and software. He should be allowed to extend his vision. Vote 1 BertL!

Of course, this will require me to work out things with the future Minister of Filming Resources, and how well this intergrations would work out will depend on the future Minister’s visions and plans as well. As a result of that, I can’t say too much about intergration plans with the Resources; frankly, that’s off limits for me. Apart from the Resources/Encyclopedia connection, there’s not really any other part of the website that can be intergrated to increase helpativity. Unless I’m mistaken, anonymous editing is currently disabled. In that case, I shall maintain the current rules on anonymous editing.
