Seems to me a point system could really discourage newbies from posting in the forum. I know that not all newbies stick around but you said it yourself in your initial post

How would this work? If you exempt newbies from punishment though then I’m pretty sure that you would be creating a very solidly defined senior member. A member who would probably be more refined, but still.

I certainly don’t think that a strike system would be a good idea or even effective.
