Wow, Rev, you’re really going ‘all out’, aren’t you? I mean, when you want Brickfilms.com to get more political, you don’t mess around!
EDIT: Woah! It made a new topic instead! Did you guys install a new Mod or something?December 13, 2006 at 6:16 pm #244260
And this couldn’t have been a PM…?December 13, 2006 at 6:17 pm #244262
I figure that if someone wants to get elected for a job, it should be fairly simple for them to get 4 other registered voters to join them in a political party so they can be nominated.
If it doesn’t require some effort to declare your candidacy for a position, our elections will be flooded with only semi-interested people.
Plus, political parties are really fun.
I split this post off of the other topic, because the other topic is only for registering parties.December 13, 2006 at 6:24 pm #244266
Oh, boy. I just thought of something. This could spawn some Windows and Mac and DS and PSP parties.December 13, 2006 at 6:39 pm #244270
So I’m not the only one worried about that then? It could spawn all kinds of silliness. At least we’re only voting to fill certain positions, not for control of the whole site.
Am I correct in guessing that the members of the party become the minister’s aides if the candidate is elected?December 13, 2006 at 6:41 pm #244272
I too am slightly worrid that it will form these partys and the thread wars will errupt into mass brickfilm government wars.

Completely up to the minister.December 13, 2006 at 7:04 pm #244278

Yeah, I’m worried about that too. Let me propose some guidelines.
1. Parties should be based around people and their respective qualities.
2. Parties should not be based on technology preferences, real-world politics or other things that could cause strife outside of the principles in rule 1.
3. Parties should have odd, meaningless names like the Whig Par- oh wait. Anyway, no names like “United Atari Party”, “Gay Party” or “Ban [insert username here] Party”.
I mean this seriously; what do you think?December 13, 2006 at 7:07 pm #244279

It’s already started with CG being a smartass.
The forums are ruined. After about a month of this politics thing, it’ll get out of hand. I’ve seen it happen before. People will get frustrated, and leave. Before you know it, the only one left will be Rev and his trusty team of mods.
All there needs to be is some kind of poll every once and a while to see if people are happy with the mods. I don’t see the need for this.
So what if it’s ‘fun’? Define ‘fun’. Just make one forum, similar to LDF, and keep all the politics crap there. Don’t spill the whole thing all over the forum.
This is turning out to be just like COTY; CG, Dragoon, and all their mindless followers will cause havoc all over again, but this time it isn’t just lame humor; it’ll actually affect Brickfilms’ state of being, and it may not be for the better.
The forum is no longer about stop-mo Lego films. RevMen has changed this and turned it into a politics forum. If you want to continue making stop-mo Lego films, it’d be a wise idea to do it somewhere else. Those aren’t welcome here anymore.December 13, 2006 at 7:17 pm #244285
dvondrake, I highly suggest you calm down and take a breath. I have merely been doing my “job” (granted, in a much more vocal way in the past 12 hours), but I have not tried to aggravate anyone. I am sorry I disagree with your suggestion, and that I had to remove your 2.3mb picture of a Christmas tree, but there is NO hostility behind my comments. You are the only one provoking others into hostility.
