Wow, Rev, you’re really going ‘all out’, aren’t you? I mean, when you want Brickfilms.com to get more political, you don’t mess around! EDIT: Woah! It made a new topic instead! Did you guys install a new Mod or something? |

And this couldn’t have been a PM…? |

I figure that if someone wants to get elected for a job, it should be fairly simple for them to get 4 other registered voters to join them in a political party so they can be nominated. If it doesn’t require some effort to declare your candidacy for a position, our elections will be flooded with only semi-interested people. Plus, political parties are really fun. edit: I split this post off of the other topic, because the other topic is only for registering parties. |

Oh, boy. I just thought of something. This could spawn some Windows and Mac and DS and PSP parties. |

So I’m not the only one worried about that then? It could spawn all kinds of silliness. At least we’re only voting to fill certain positions, not for control of the whole site. Am I correct in guessing that the members of the party become the minister’s aides if the candidate is elected? |

I too am slightly worrid that it will form these partys and the thread wars will errupt into mass brickfilm government wars. -LS nocks the last nail into his anderson shelter under his desk. |

Completely up to the minister. |

Yeah, I’m worried about that too. Let me propose some guidelines. 1. Parties should be based around people and their respective qualities. I mean this seriously; what do you think? |

It’s already started with CG being a smartass. The forums are ruined. After about a month of this politics thing, it’ll get out of hand. I’ve seen it happen before. People will get frustrated, and leave. Before you know it, the only one left will be Rev and his trusty team of mods. All there needs to be is some kind of poll every once and a while to see if people are happy with the mods. I don’t see the need for this. The forum is no longer about stop-mo Lego films. RevMen has changed this and turned it into a politics forum. If you want to continue making stop-mo Lego films, it’d be a wise idea to do it somewhere else. Those aren’t welcome here anymore. |

dvondrake, I highly suggest you calm down and take a breath. I have merely been doing my “job” (granted, in a much more vocal way in the past 12 hours), but I have not tried to aggravate anyone. I am sorry I disagree with your suggestion, and that I had to remove your 2.3mb picture of a Christmas tree, but there is NO hostility behind my comments. You are the only one provoking others into hostility. Cometgreen |

I am in entire disagreement with everything that you just said. |

If you are unhappy, dvondrake, you may leave when you wish. Brickfilms loyalists will stay to make the best of this opportunity. |

At what point did anyone say we’re going to elect mods? |

I second that, when did that crop up? |

We must not overlook nightowl’s post, made just before dvondrake’s dissent. I for one am not worried about “The Mac Party” or “The Nintendo Party” gaining any real power. I would think RevMen has the ability to ratify the legitimacy of political parties, and he’ll be able to smack down any of these potential threats. And of course, parties should be built around the people included, not some unrelated thing. Cometgreen |
